I was so worried for a moment that Star would be frozen in panic, but something different happened. He started glowing with a bright, white light, and in his hand a weapon appeared. The weapon looked like a twisted staff, glowing with a starry aura. Star ran at the monster, not even looking frightened at those deadly red eyes, and struck his staff into the place of its heart.

In a heartbeat, the monster vanished into the thin air, and the darkness faded into light. Star came out holding the weapon in his hand, but it vanished on command. "Night vision and solar flare powers. " The woman said.

"Sorrel," My friend went into the room and her surroundings turned into a lush, green forest. She was on one side of the room, and the other end that had the door out was...miles away! Sorrel just seemed focused on getting to the other side and started running normally. But her feet tripped over tree roots and leaves knocked into her face. She stopped, wondering what to do, until she started placing her hands near the roots and leaves causing them to move away. She could manipulate plants! She started running again, and the plants moved away faster since Sorrel was running.

Just into about a quarter of the distance, Sorrel suddenly looked frightened. A ghostly black image of a cheetah was racing towards her, faster than the speed of lightning, and it's teeth bared in a snarl. Sorrel then started running fast. Really fast. Even faster than the cheetah! She quickly reached the end of the room and the cheetah disappeared. "Plant manipulation and running powers."

"Bracken." When he entered the room, an animal appeared. It seemed to look at Bracken in a savage way, as if it wanted more than just to kill him. "No! " I heard Bracken say pleadingly, " Don't do it! I can't hurt you! I don't want to hurt you! " The animal was a brown colored wolf, and strangely a green aura surrounded it. It lunged, but as Bracken lifted an arm to shield himself the animal flew backward in mid-leap, scrambling on the floor in confusion.

" I don't want to hurt you. " Bracken repeated again to the wolf. It stood its ground, it knew it couldn't get to Bracken. I think it was because he had created a forcefield around himself, protecting him from the animal. The wolf stood there with its eyes in a menacing glare, but then it lowered its head in acceptance and disappeared. Bracken then immediately came out of the room, his eyes looked hollow and his face pale. "Defensive powers along with the ability to talk to creatures," the woman said.

"Bracken? Are you alright? " I asked him. He didn't seem to hear me, but then he opened his mouth and spoke just loud enough to say, "Yeah." I knew that wasn't the whole story, but I didnt have enough time to question him more until I heard my name being called, "Leaf and Fire."

I gave a questioning look at Fire who reflected the same expression. Why two players at once? I thought to myself. We both entered room one at a time and stood at distance apart from each other. We stood there silently for a moment until I heard the woman say something I really didn't want to hear; "Battle. "

"What!? He's my friend, why would I-" I was cut off by a blast of fire aimed straight at me. The force stung, like a blow to the chest. I looked up and saw Fire, just standing across from me with an evil smile. "What are you doing!?" I asked him, shocked. I was answered by another fire blast that was blocked with my water powers. I shot an enraged look at Fire, shooting a wave of water in his direction. He wasn't ready, and he was taken back by the force. I took this as an advantage and knocked him to the ground.

And that's when I saw it.

Something seemed unnatural in Fire's eye as I struggled to keep him pinned to the ground. "Finally noticed? You really are dumb." I heard him say making me punch him in the face. "Get out of Fire you, you monster! " I screamed at whatever was controlling Fire.

He didn't flinch, " Why should I? I thought you hated him when you found out he liked you. " I stopped, suddenly guilty. How did they know this? Fire then knocked me off of my grip, knowing he had hit a weak spot, and pinned me down, "Those days have changed, we're friends now. " I said, not meeting the boy's eye. "Oh really? Then how come sometimes you're still hesitant to talk to him when you're next to each other? How come you still refuse to be near him during class? " Fire punched me, forcing me to look and face him.

" Is it because you're scared you're going to fall for him, too? Just like all the others? " He whispered tauntingly just for me to hear.

" STOP! " I yelled and used all of my energy to escape his hold on me. "Let go of Fire! " I pushed him with my nature force, " I don't care anymore that he used to like me, we're friends now and nothing is going to change that! " I struck another blow at Fire and that was when I was sure what had controlled him was gone. My friend shook his head, slightly dazed and I extended a hand to him. "I'm sorry." I said, feeling guilty of causing him to hear the truth. I was panting, but I couldn't believe how Fire was feeling right now after what had happened.

" It's alright," he said also panting as we came out of the room,"Thank you, for getting me out of there. " I gave him a small smile. I had forgiven him, but has he forgiven me? "Fire, with fire powers and unnatural strength. Leaf, with water and nature powers, with an enhanced ability of senses. " I barely payed attention to the game maker announcing our abilities. My powers didn't matter to me, what happened in that room wasn't just to show what our powers were...
