I woke up on the large bed, Creep asleep on my lap. I picked him up and stood. I put Creep back on the bed. He never woke up. I swayed a bit and steadied myself on the headboard. Marie wasn't in the shack. I went outside.

"Marie?" I called. "Titus?"

Nothing. I walked around the shack once before going back inside. I sat in the chair and rested my head on my hands. I snapped my head back up, realizing the fire was out, the elixir gone. As soon as I had stood up, I was grabbed from behind, my hands restrained so I couldn't get to my blade.

I pulled my leg up and crushed my attackers foot beneath my boot. The attacker jumped back and fell, grasping his foot. He was cute. Shoulder length black hair, blue eyes, I could tell he was short. Before I could continue my defense I was tackled and landed face first in the chair. The second flipped me over and stabbed my hands into the chair with stakes made from a locust tree. I roared and screeched in agony. I was no longer able to move as blood poured from my hands and down my arms.

The second attacker, a taller man with long, black hair and green eyes, went to help the first attacker off the floor.

"Chancellor, are you alright?" He asked him as he pulled him off the floor.

"Yes, I am fine." He responded. "She broke my foot, but it has already healed.

"Okay. Good." He turned to the door. "Angela, Murrill, bring her inside and tie her to the bed."

A woman with red hair and a woman with brown hair walked into the room. They had Marie by her wrists. She had tears streaming down her cheeks. She looked at me, stabbed into her ancient chair, and cried even harder. I had never seen her shed a single tear.

"I swear to your god and mine if you killed Titus, I will make the Angels extinct! And I will help the demons rule!" She yelled, "And if you hurt Aria I will make all of you watch your precious world crumble and your brothers and sisters fall!" She sobbed.

I felt the anger rising through my body as they tied her to the bed behind me. "Don't you hurt her or I will kill you!" I screamed.

"Actually dear," Said Cozmel, "You're going to stop the apocalypse. And you're going to kill your...father."

"Do not call me 'dear'" I hissed through my clenched teeth, "And Lucifer is not my father. My father's name is Jonathan Hamell. I will never claim the devil as my father."

"Mm mm , What do you think of her?"

"I think she is a demon scum and I cannot understand why the gauntlet would ever choose her." Said the other man, "But, since she is chosen, I suppose we have to trust that she will do her duty."

"Excuse me!" I cut in, screaming through the pain, "What are you talking about? And you could've put me in a damn devil's trap, you inconsiderate bastards!"

"Excuse you!" said the girl with red hair, stepping forward, "We are not bastards. We are the angels of the Lord and we were sent here to protect you!"

"Angel, that's enough, sister." The brown haired one that must've been Murrell said and pulled her back to the bed.

"We would not have been able to utilize a devil's trap while you were wearing the gauntlet. It would've made the trap ineffective." Explained Chancellor.

"If you promise to be good and hear us out- both of you-" Cozmel looked over the chair at Marie, who had silenced her sobbing," I will let you free."

"Oh, Cozumel." I said, "I'll be very good to you. Your three friends, on the other hand, might not be so lucky if I find out they've harmed Titus."
