DJ's POV
It's been about 3 months since moving to NC and so far I like it. I've found my best friend/almost boyfriend I hope. Ever since JT and I had our little moment at his lake house that night we've been inseparable. If I'm not at his house he's at mine, we're always together. It's Friday and school is starting back in another week. Ughh I'm so mad summer is almost over. JT and I are about to go shopping for school because we both gotta be fly when school starts back. I walk down stairs to the kitchen and see my mom drinking a mimosa and I just shake my head and chuckle. My mom looks up from her iPad and ask what so funny. I tell her nothing and grab a water out the fridge. Sitting down at the bar my mom looks at me and smiles. Looking at her with a questionable look I say "what Ma" and look down to check my IG. "So DJ I've noticed you and JT are spending a lot of time together lately. What's up with y'all" she ask while smirking at me. I look over at her and shrug my shoulders and roll my eyes while smiling at her. "Boy don't you give me that look. He is cute and I know my son, so he more than just someone your friends with, plus I saw y'all hugging the other night when you got back from the amusement park. From the looks of that hug y'all are getting close" she says seriously. Damn I forgot how nosy my mom is and she knows me too well. I put my phone down on the bar and tell her the truth. "Ma were really just friends we don't have a title. I do like JT but I'm not sure if it's just a summer fling or what" I tell her while looking in her eyes. My phone dings and it's a message from JT telling me to come on he's ready. I tell my mom I'm leaving and give her a kiss and run out the door.
After leaving the mall JT and I decide to go get something to eat. We pull up at my favorite restaurant, Cheesecake Factory. I'm lowkey happy because I've been craving a piece of red velvet cheesecake and I might just buy a whole one. We're seated and the waiter ask what we'll like to drink. He takes our order and leaves us alone to talk. "So DJ are you excited for our senior year?" JT asked. Yeah I'm a little nervous though because it's a new school for me and I hate being the new person" I honestly tell him. The waiter brings our drinks and takes our food order and we make small talk until our food comes out. We eat and I take my wallet out to pay for my food. JT stops me and tells me he's got it. We leave and end up riding around town just chilling. JT grabs my hand and locks our fingers together. I look at him and he smiles at me. "DJ I've been wanting to ask you something for a while now" he says while pulling up at the park. "What is it" I ask him and shifts in his seat looking at me. "This summer has been one to remember. I met my new best friend and I've had the best time being around you. I can't go another day without you officially being mine." He leans over giving me a kiss. "Of course I'll be yours babe" I tell him and the biggest smile spreads across his face. I've been waiting for this to happen for a couple weeks and now we're finally a couple I think to myself. I take my phone out my pocket and type the following message to JT. "Take me back to your house it's time I so you what's good babe 😜😜🙈😉😉." His phone dings and he looks at it and smiles hard as hell. He types back and says "you bout to get this 🍆😉 tonight." I bust out laughing and he cranks the car up and speeds to his house.
