Ri's POV
I ran down the stairs when Riley called my name. She showed me a piece of parchment that said we must leave for a quest to defeat the darkness.
"It must be urgent. We JUST got here!" I exclaimed when I had read through the entire note.
Riley just shrugged, and we both went upstairs to get anything we really needed. I placed my wand into my indestructible purse, as well as the tracking device I had found under my pillow. I met up with Riley back at the bottom of the stairs, and we started flying to Utah. When I pulled out my tracking device, at first nothing was on it, but as we became closer to Utah, black dots appeared all over the area on the device. Riley and I started to speed up, the wind whipping at our faces, leaving my cheeks bright pink, and freezing cold.
"I wish I had a jacket too!" Riley said, as though reading my mind.
"How did you know..." I started, but then remembered that she could read minds now.
When we got to the heart of Utah, Riley and I looked around, and there were millions of people floating in the air.
"That must be the darkness.... These people don't have wings." I said.
I turned around to look at Riley, but there were at least 5 of her, all staring intently at me.
"Riley!!!??" I yelled.
I looked more closely at these "Riley's" and noticed that they all had white wings, while the real Riley had black wings. I pulled out my wand and blasted them with the happiness beams, and they screamed while disappearing into the gold and pink sparks.
I saw Riley being ganged up on by a group of me, but they had turquoise wings. I blasted them as well, just before they could jump on her to attack.
"We need to stick together!" Riley yelled over to me.
I flew over to her, so that we could work together. Many more "people" came to us, asking for help, but when Riley looked into my eyes, I could tell that she had read their minds, and that they were not innocent people asking for help. My grip on the wand was becoming harder, because making sure that I didn't let go of the wand while having beams of happiness shoot from it was hard. My hands were very sweaty, so I put the wand away for a bit, and Riley and I just tried to lure the darkness away from plain sight of the clueless people on the ground. I would occasionally kick and throw punches at the darkness, but I decided it would be best if I got my wand out again. I tossed it over to Riley, and dodged a punch from the darkness. They were all started to look like me, so I started to become freaked out. I was cowering, while they all circled around me, but then pink and gold started to surround me instead. Riley was standing behind me, and we looked around. There was not a single member of the darkness to be seen. Just to be sure, I looked closely at Riley's wings, but they were black, so it was fine. We started our journey back to the castle.
At first, I was concerned because I had no idea which way we had came from, but when I turned on the tracking device, it showed a dotted line pointed toward the Castle of the Air. We flew in that direction, looked backwards sometimes to make sure no darkness was there, and when we got back home, we slept until noon the next day.
