AUTHORS NOTE:
I just started school again, so I'm going to be trying to update as much as possible, but I can't promise anything. Most weekends I'll try to update and write 1-2 chapters.
Riley POV
Ri grabbed my arm and we rushed into the school. I lead her over to the girls bathroom and made sure nobody else was in there.
"KEATON!? Oh my goodness how can I do this!?" I said.
"I'm not sure... But somehow we'll manage. I mean, it shouldn't take that long, and he doesn't know it's you, Riley."
"Well, DUH! But he's my freaking boyfriend! How can I possibly ignore him?" I snapped back.
"JEEZ! Why are you getting mad at me? I had NOTHING to do with this mission." Arianna replied.
We calmed down, and went back outside, to see Keaton standing there.
"Okay! Shall we start with the tour? This is Shadow Academy!" He started.
Riley and I just followed him, not really listening to what he was saying. I mean, we weren't even really enrolled in any classes. The Spirit of the Land brainwashed the principal to let us in the school, without doing the schoolwork.
"And these are your dorm rooms." Keaton pointed at a room, and then another room about 20 doors down.
"Are there any rooms that are closer together than that?" Ri said to him.
"Yes, but they are reserved for the seniors..." Keaton looked back at Ri and saw her clenching her fist.
"YOU. WILL. GIVE. US. THOSE. ROOMS." She yelled
Keaton flinched, and was about to reply, but decided not to, and just lead us toward the other rooms. He opened the door, and gave each of us a key. Ri and I both stepped into the dorm, to find 2 beds, 2 desks, and a dresser. We opened up the drawers, and found them stuffed with clothes already.
"The Spirit must have known that we would get these rooms!" I said.
"Yep! She probably knew that we wouldn't stand to be in different dorms, with other PEOPLE!" Ri replied.
We put down our stuff, and decided to start talking about the darkness. We made sure that all the doors and windows were locked and closed, so that nobody could hear us. We talked about what we wanted to do during the day, and what we would say if some other students came and asked us why we weren't in class. We decided that I could read nearby people's minds, and see if they were watching us. I would then read their minds to see if they were going to question us, and if they did, we would just start walking away from them. If a teacher approached us, we would basically just be screwed. YUP.
"We could tell the teacher that our parents haven't enrolled us in any classes yet." Ri suggested.
"I mean, what about in a few weeks if we are still here? I replied.
"Lets wait until that happens before we discuss what our plan is for then.
We unlocked the windows and doors, and started walking outside, looking for darkness when morning came. We looked around the bathrooms, outside of classrooms, and just around the hallways. We repeated this cycle SO MANY TIMES. We found darkness NONE of those times. After a bit, passing period started, and we just made a break for it. We looked in the doors of different classrooms "looking for the correct class" for about 5 minutes, but then we just started walking around again. A girl was walking towards us from our right, and neither of us knew she was there until she spoke.
"Hello Riley. Hello Ri." The girl said.
"How do you know our names?" I asked the strange girl.
"We know each other, you've just never seen my face." She said.
"Riiiiiighttt...." Ri trailed off as she looked toward a wall.
Dark shadows were crawling across the paintings, and they slowly took the form of the three of us. I saw Ri reach for her wand, and the strange girl put on some sort of bracelet. The bracelet flashed gold and silver, and then shone a bright, green light. The light started shining so bright, I had to close my eyes completely.
"TAKE COVER!!" The girl said.
We didn't know her, or who she was, but we were sure going to take her advice. We ran around the corner of the hallway. We heard a crash, and then saw light coming around the corner, slowly. We both started backing away, and then turned around and started running. The light was coming straight for us! We didn't know what would happen if it caught up to us, but all we knew is that we didn't want to find out. The light stopped chasing us, and the girl walked out. She walked dramatically out of the light, wearing a beautiful, and graceful dress. It was pastel pink, and her hair was brown.
"The Spirit of the Land," She said.
"You know who the Spirit of the Land is!?" Ri gasped.
"Yes... She is me," The girl said.
She smiled, "You can all me Anna."
