Josh laid on his bed, tears streaming down his face. Every five seconds or so he would wipe them away angrily. He was so scared. What had he done? The only friend he ever had and he yelled at them. He confessed his love and he knew it would change everything. What if Tyler didn't want to talk to him anymore? What would he do? He was such an idiot, what made him even have all that courage. He was usually shy and kept his opinions, thoughts, and emotions to himself. He wished he could take it back. He shouldn't have said anything. He turned over and closed his eyes hoping to fall a sleep, he couldn't take the heartache anymore. He felt like the world was crumbling around him, he felt his heavy heart beating faster than usual. His throat hurt from crying so much, it was like he was being suffocated, drowning under water and no one was there to pull him out.
Right before he fell into a light slumber he heard the doorbell ring but he didn't go to get it because he knew who was on the other side and he didn't feel like talking. It would be too much, too soon. The doorbell wouldn't stop ringing for about a minute or so and then it stopped. Josh sighed, he was relieved, thank god Tyler stopped, he didn't want to see him.
Before Josh could start celebrating his little victory, his doorknob twisted and opened quietly. Josh rolled his eyes. Of course. Tyler never quits. "Josh!" Tyler exclaimed. He was still dressed in his suit with the blue tie still around his neck. Josh closed his eyes and didn't respond. "What just happened?" Tyler probed and drew closer to his best friend. "Please go away." Josh mumbled. His eyes still closed. "I want to figure this out. Okay?" Tyler didn't get an answer so he sat at the end of the bed. "Tiffany told me that someone spiked the punch. That's probably why you said all those things right?" Tyler asked, he was praying that it would be the answer and they could just go back to what they're friendship was before all this.
Josh opened his eyes and sat up. He cleared his throat and wiped his tears. He couldn't be the quiet shy Josh that he normally was. He had to buckle up and be honest and hopefully he would get what he wanted. "No. I've felt like that forever." A silence hung in the room. They both didn't know what to say. What do you say after your best friend confesses their love to you? Tyler's phone started ringing and he looked down to answer it, it was Jenna. She was currently waiting in his car outside. After Josh had spewed to Tyler, Tyler was frozen but regained himself and went to Josh's house. No matter how surprising and strange the situation was he couldn't just leave his friend alone.
Tyler answered. "Yeah? Sorry just give me fivemore minutes and I'll be out. Jen..." Josh wanted to scream. He just had toanswer to Jenna during this very serious conversation. It was the life or deathof their friendship but of course he had to tend to Jenna's needs first. "LookTyler just go okay? We'll talk about this tomorrow at school." Josh pleaded. Heneeded rest, he was tired of talking and getting nowhere. Tyler nodded andtried to give him a hug but decided not to in the end. "We have to figure thisout before graduation." Tyler said before he left Josh alone in his room. Joshagreed. Tyler was a hundred percent correct. They only had a week of schoolleft for exams and then graduation and then they would be done with high schooland they needed to talk about this and come up with some solution. Josh gulped. At least Tyler knew about his little crush. He wasn't sure if it was a good orbad thing at this point.
