It's been a week and a half since I've talked to Bucky. Ever since that little moment we shared in my room, I just couldn't bring myself to see him. I've been avoiding him every day and it's super hard. I want to let him in. I want to tell him that I 'maybe' like him too! I just can't let anyone in anymore. Clint is the only one. Anyone else will be too hard. I can't lose anyone again.

It's been 12 days since I last spoke to Bucky. I've actually been really good at avoiding him. I know he's been asking for me, but I just tell Steve or Vision to make something up. They're not that good at it, but it seems to work. I peer around the corner and into the hallway that leads to my room. I walk quietly down it and slip into my room. I close the door as softly as I can. I turn around and see Bucky lounging on my bed. So much for avoiding him.

"Look, I'm not in the mood for whatever you're about to say." I said as I walked over to my dresser and set my bag down.

"You've been avoiding me. Why?" Bucky asked.

I didn't answer, just shrugged.

"Wanda. Is it because of what I said?"

I didn't answer again. I turned away and headed for my door. I could already feel a tear slip down my cheek.

I heard him get up from my bed. He walked over to me and grabbed me by the shoulders and turned me towards him.

"Hey..." He wiped the tear away with his thumb.

"I've been avoiding you because...I...I just can't let any more people in. It's too dangerous." I said softly.

He let out a soft chuckle. "Wanda, what do you mean?"

I ran my hands through my hair and just lost it. "If I let you in, I might lose you like I lost Pietro! I can't do that! I can't go through that again..." I cried out.

Bucky grabbed my hands and put them on his chest. "Feel that? That's a beating heart. It'll be beating tomorrow and years from now. You can't let me in? Well I can't live a life where you aren't in it."

I sniffed and looked at my hands. I could feel his heart beating. It was beating faster than before. Without thinking, I reached up and pulled his face down to mine. Our lips met and it was instant fireworks. He held onto me tightly as I ran my hands through his hair.

When we pulled away, we were still inches apart.

"Let me in...please." He whispered.

I nodded. "Okay..."

He cupped my face and kissed me so gingerly, I longed for more. Then, he pulled me into a very needed hug. We held each other for a very long time. Not saying anything, just embracing each other.
