Chapter 10: Old Memories Are Painful

  My phone was vibrating on my desk. Slowly opening my eyes, I reached to see who it was. Karman was blowing my phone up. "Hello?" I answered  half asleep.

"Dude, something happened at the school last night." Karman shouted. I pulled the phone away from my ear. She was into all the drama that happened at school.

I yawned. "If school's canceled let me go back to sleep." I was about to hang up on her before I heard her say...

"Todd's guts are all over the hallway walls. His body isn't even a body anymore. Everyone in the school is being questioned. Nobody knows what happened." Could Danny have done it? Could he have been so angry at me that he killed Todd and slashed him all over the walls? Last time I saw him was on the ground after Karman beat the crap out of him for almost raping me. He was still alive. Karman began to panic. "Oh no. What if I'm questioned? He was alive when we left the party. I'll be a suspect." She started breathing heavy.
   
   I tried to calm her down. "If you are, just tell them the truth. You were only protecting me. And dont worry, I'm sure they'll figure it out. I'm going to take a quick shower and I'll see you at the square."

She sighed with relief. "You're the best. I dont know what I'd do without you. See you soon." She hung up. I crawled out of bed to get ready. Something weird started happening to my body. Loud screams and cries rang through my ears. I dropped to the ground and grabbed my head.  "CHANGE BACK! DON'T HURT ME! PLEASE! I WANT TO STAY WITH YOU!" I was on the ground tossing and turning violently. It was so painful. I couldn't move. Couldn't scream or cry out for help. A vision came into my mind...

A girl was hiding under the bed. Danny was there. He pulled her out and held her in his arms. It must have been Sammy.

Then there was creatures of the night standing there. She was afraid of them. "DANNY!" She shouted.

More voices came into my head. "ALKAMA LEAVE!"

"YOU SURE SHE LOVES YOU? SHE SEEMS TO BE AFRAID OF YOU."

"BITCH LEAVE!"

"NO!"

They wouldn't stop. They wouldn't go away. I felt so weak, so helpless. I needed to find Danny. He was the only one who could help me. But I didnt know where to start. For the moment, I had no choice but to suffer.

A half hour later, the memories stopped. I used the bed to help myself up. This was my chance before they started up again. I quickly took a shower and changed into a fancy tank top and black leggings. I grabbed my keys and headed for the car. Once I turned on the car, I quickly drove off. The park was only a couple blocks away thankfully. My mind was wondering. If I called out to him, would he come?

"Danny. Can you hear me?"
   
   Nothing but silence. I smacked the steering wheel. I looked like an idiot talking to myself. It wasnt until I pulled up into the parking lot when the feeling came back. I had to fight it off. Parking the car and locking it. I headed into the park. Even though I was fast walking, it seemed like it was taking me a long time to go anywhere. There were some people around me. Walking the trail or even exercising. The feeling grew stronger, almost making me drop to the ground. I didnt want to make a scene in front of these people. I decided to take a short cut in the small patch of woods. Before I could go any further, the screams and voice came back. It was stronger than the last time. Holding my head, I dropped to my knees. Just listening to the voices.

"YOU'RE TRYING TO TRICK ME SO YOU CAN LEAVE!"

"NO! I WANT TO STAY WITH YOU!DON'T HURT ME!"

"LEAVE HIM ALONE! DANNY!"

There was nothing I could do. My whole head felt like it was going to explode within seconds. Even though part of me was stubborn and wanted to figure out how to stop this on my own, I needed Danny. Without warning, the voices stopped. The pain suddenly ended. Slowly looking around, a person wearing black sweat pants and a black hoodie stood in front of me. I looked past the blinding sun to see it was Danny. Relief came over me that he came just in time. "They've been happening all morning huh?" He held out his hand. I gave him a pissy look. So much for me being happy to see him. "Are you really stubborn in this life time?" He raised his eyebrow at me.
