Chapter 15: The Secret Admirer

It's been a few weeks now since I've seen Danny. Once we went through a portal, we ended up in an apartment. A creature explained to me the rules. If Danny came back to just pretend I didnt know him or else. That was basically it. I had everything a human needed to survive. My own place to try and call it home. I could see the city lights from my apartment. It was lonely here. I missed Danny. I was hoping that one night, he'd find me again. I didn't even know where I was. It was annoying that no one could leave me alone. I was tired of running.
After the first week of being here, I've been getting love notes from somebody. I've also gotten some gifts like roses and candy. I had no idea who this person was. It went on for almost a month. Tonight, we are supposed to have dinner. The last I recieved wasnt a 'Will you go to dinner with me?'. It was a 'We are having dinner tomorrow night. Cab will pick you up and take you to The Lob.' Whoever it was, seemed forceful. I didn't want to go. But the letters said to just give him a chance and if I didnt want to stay, I could leave. That was after the forceful letter. Maybe he felt bad and just doesn't know how to ask people on dates? It was making me curious. I wanted to know who it was. I wore a slim black dress that showed the tops of my boobs. There was a jewelry box that had diamond earrings and rings. I just wore the earrings. A cab pulled up downstairs. Going down to the cab, I got in. They drove me to an expensive restaurant called The Lob. This place looked very nice and exclusive. I went inside. Where was I supposed to go? There was a lot of people talking and eating. Waiters walking around with one hand behind their back. A man I didn't recognize walked up to me. He gently kissed my hand. Without saying a word, he led me over to a table and pulled my chair out for me. I sat down, he pushed me closer to the table. My body was on edge. This guy was very polite and formal. He wore a nice suit, no tie. Dark brown hair pushed back with gel. His skin was dark and he wore one earring in his left ear. I looked at him. "Do you I know you from somewhere?" My earrings dangled.

He turned into his monster form quickly. It was Hawk. He smiled at me then changed back. "Didn't think you would know if I was in my human form." I nodded.
So this is who it was. Probably should have guessed it. He stared at me. "Did you like my gifts?" I nodded again. They were alright. The candy sat on the counter, untouched. The roses eventually died. It was almost like he was trying to buy my affection. Hawk smiled as he opened the menu. I didn't have one on my side. He saw my face. "A lady should never have to order her own meal." I raised my eyebrow at him. The way he said it made me a little pissed off. It was like I wasnt capable enough to order my own meal. A waiter came by to take our order. He smiled at him. "One of your best bottles of red wine. A steak, close to rare and a grilled chicken salad for the lady." He smiled, handing the menu back to the waiter as he left. "Glad I got to decide." Mumbling to myself. He kept staring at me. It was making me uncomfortable. The bottle of wine came. Hawk poured it into our glasses half way. He stirred his. I grabbed mine. He raised it up a little bit. The music in the background was fading. "To a nice dinner." His face turned from a friendly smile to a devious one. We clinked our glasses together. "And for you becoming my queen."

I almost choked on my wine. "Excuse me?" I took my napkin and wiped my face.

"If you're my queen, you can have me. I'll be your only monster." He grabbed my hand. This is what he wanted. He didn't want to turn time back. Hawk wanted me for himself. "You can always have me. You don't need Sitheyn. Forget about him, he means nothing! Imagine what I can do for you." His eyes changed into a light blue, almost scary like. I didn't like this. I pushed his hand away.

"No Hawk, I'll never be yours. I'll never be your queen." I got up.

Hawk didn't do anything but place his fingers in a triangle form and smirked at me. "Getting lonely in that apartment yet?" I gave him a dirty look. It was like asking a prisoner if they enjoy having their freedom taken away. "Just think about it." He winked at me.
I stormed out of the restaurant. This was his plan. To isolate me and make me his queen. I wasnt going to forget about Danny. He's all I've been thinking about since we've been apart. I walked home in heels. It was so uncomfortable. Probably was going to have blisters all over my feet. I finally got back to my apartment before it started to rain. Luckily I was aloud to go wherever and stayed close by so I wouldn't get lost. I slipped off my heels and climbed up the stairs. My feet were started to ache. Walking up 20 flights of stairs due to the elevator being out. I unlocked the door. Once I got inside, the door was closed and locked tight. Dropping my heels to the ground, I dragged myself to my room. How could I tell Danny anything? Could he find me? My heart was hurting. Missing him and not being able to contact him hurt more than anything else. I changed in the bathroom and came back into my room. The lights were turned off. I crawled on top of the bed. While trying to picture Danny, I realized that it hasn't been a few weeks, it's been a month. A month of being alone and thinking about him. Arms wrapped around my waist. Freaking out, I jumped out of bed. I managed to turn the lights on.
