I spent the next three days reading up on new studies and refreshing my mind on terms and shit.

I took a small break and made myself some tea and put on some music from my phone and decided to dance around a bit.

I sipped on tea every once in a while and sang along to some songs as I spun around and put on a dramatic little show.

I heard applause and screamed a little, looking over to see Donatello perched by the window.

"How long have you been there?" I asked, my hand over heart from shock.

"Since the beginning of the last song." He smiled and stepped towards me. "I brought your book." He said and handed a copy of the first one I bought to me.

I beamed out of happiness. "You're the best, Donatello!" I said and hugged him tight.

He chuckled and hugged me back, rubbing my back. "I don't know about the best, but thanks."

I pulled back with a stunned face. "I've been a terrible hostess. Do you want something to drink or eat or...? I don't know. I don't have people over often." I said and he chuckled and shook his head, going over to the couch and sitting down.

"Where's your roommate?" He asked.

"I don't have one." I sat by him.

"Really? No pets, either?" I shook my head. "So it's just you in here? Nobody else?" He asked and I chuckled.

"Yep." I nodded.

"How?" He seemed amazed.

"I'm not really good around other people. I'm an antisocial introvert." I said and he nodded.

"Sorry, the concept is just really weird to me. I've lived with my three brothers and our dad my whole life. Never been alone a second ever." He shook his head and I chuckled. "I'd kill for some silence and alone time once in a while." He sighed and sat back and I didn't speak, and we both just listened and relished in the silence together.

"Hey, Donatello-" I started softly.

"Please," He smiled over at me, lazily opening his eyes. "Call me Donnie."

"Okay, Donnie." I tested the name out. It didn't roll off the tongue like Donatello, but it worked for me. "As far as I'm concerned, you can come over here whenever you want if you need the quiet and to just be alone. I'm here almost twenty four seven, and I'm a good listener whenever you need to rant." I offered and he chuckled lightly.

"Thanks, Dorian." He smiled wholeheartedly and it warmed me right the fuck up.

"What about your friends?" He asked and I fidgeted a bit.

"I don't really have friends." I admitted.

"What about those jerks I met the other day?" He asked.

"Oh. Those are some guys I grew up with. I've known them since middle school. Garrett and I actually used to be pretty close." I sighed, drawing my knees and folding my arms over them.

"How close?" Donnie asked I grinned.

"I used to have a crush on him close. It took me until eighth grade to realise he was douchebag and drop the crush." I laughed a little and bit my lip. "Ryan and Sean, though. That's a completely different story. Ryan is a straight up asshole, but Sean is the type to play nice to you as he's picking on you. Sean is also stoned half the time, and he's really stupid even sober." I sighed.

"Are you in school?" Donnie asked and I shook my head.

"Nah, I graduated about a month ago." I said and he nodded. "I'm not in college. Can't afford it and I don't need it."

"What about work?" He asked.

"No work either. I'm freeloading." I smirked.

"Then how do you pay for this place?" He asked.

"The owner owes a favour to my mom, so I get to stay here for free." I explained.

"Then how do you pay for stuff?" He asked, seeming super interested.

"My dad died when I was little so I get paid a shit load of compensation once every two months. Also, grandma is loaded and I'm her favourite grandkid." I said, bragging a little. "I've got it all worked out."

A beep came from Donnie's phone and he groaned. "Ugh, gotta go do night patrol. I'll see you sometime, okay, Dorian?" He said and got up, going to the window.

"Yeah, please come back." I said and he had his feet on the sill and was hanging onto the top sill with his hands outside the window.

"You want me back here? To hang out? With you?" He stuttered.

"Yeah. Maybe I'll give friends a try." I smiled and he reciprocated.

"Right... right! I'll see you later." He said and swooped away like Spiderman.

"Yeah, see you later." I said with a smile and shut the window, but didn't latch it in case he did actually come back.
