I was walking back to my place to change clothes and grab some stuff to keep at Donnie's for when I stayed over (since I was welcome at any time) and I ran into Garrett standing outside my apartment complex.

"Garrett. Hi." I said and pushed my hair back a bit.

"Hey, Dorian. You mind if I talk to you for a bit?" He asked and I nodded.

"Sure. Where's Ryan and Sean?" I asked, unlocking the front door and letting him in.

"Fuck knows. Where are you coming from?" He asked as we got in the elevator and I pressed the button to the very top floor.

"Donnie's. Spent the night. I'm just here to change clothes and bring a few things over for future sleep overs." I said.

"You two are getting pretty serious, huh?" He asked as we stepped out.

"Yeah, kinda. And before you ask, no, we did not have sex." I rolled my eyes at him and gestured to the couch.

"So what did you want to talk to me about?" I asked, going into my bedroom, and I cracked the door to still hear him as I changed clothes and packed, and redid some makeup.

"I just..." He paused and I kept listening, and stepped out and sat on the armchair across from him.

"I'm happy for you, and I wanted to apologise for everything I ever did to you." He said and I was blown away a little.

"Um, thank you...? Any reasoning behind this?" I asked, leaning forward in interest.

"Well, after I apologised last time for that time in the park with you and Donnie, I began thinking about how much of a dick I've been to you... as long as I've known you. We've known each other since sixth grade, since we were eleven, Dori, and I don't know if I've ever said anything actually nice to you." He said, looking up into my eyes, and I could tell it was heartfelt.

"After all the shit you've been through in life, I'm really glad you found someone who makes you happy, and I swear, if Donnie ever hurts you, I'll be first to beat him up for you." He said and I giggled a bit. "Can we... try to be friends?" He asked and held out his hand, and I smiled genuinely.

"Friends." I nodded and shook his hand, and Garrett gave a grateful smile.

"So, do you have to be back immediately?" He asked and I shook my head. "Cool! Wanna go get ice cream?" Garrett asked and I raised my eyebrow. "I know you like ice cream. I'll pay." He said and I smiled.

"Well, I can't turn down ice cream. And free ice cream at that!" I said and grabbed my phone and keys and we left.

We walked to the ice cream place and Garrett just talked about memories from middle school, which I was shocked I was quite common in. We got our ice creams and I suggested the park to walk around and eat them in.

"I remember..." Garrett and I were both laughing too hard to form a full sentence from the memories. "I remember you had glasses in sixth grade! And bangs!" He choked a little and I blushed.

"Don't bring that up! That was an embarrassing time for me!" I said and he just chuckled.

"I also remember how you didn't talk to anyone and you were so rude the first few months of middle school..." He hummed.

"Yeah. I was mean back then." I nodded.

"Then Miss Pemberton sat us next to each other and I swore I would make you talk, I would make you laugh, I'd make you joke with me. Then you became nicer to me." He smiled over at me.

"Because I had a huge crush on you and you were leading me on." I said.

"Sorry for that. Ryan was gonna pay me two hundred bucks." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"Psh. I'm worth way more than two hundred." I scoffed, then laughed. "Look at me, pulling a Julius Caesar." Garrett looked confused, and I just shook my head. "History joke. Forget it."

We started walking back to my place, and I heard someone shout out, "Guys! No!" Then Garrett and I were pulled into an alley.

Mikey stood in front of us. "Who's this dude?" He asked and Garrett pulled me behind him.

"We! Are not! Food! Humans are not food!" He shouted and the other three came down and I gave a look that I hope said 'sorry, guys.'

"We have been sent from the supreme overlord to come to earth and devour tasty humans and dip them in ranch dressing." Mikey said and walked around us.

"Yum. I love ranch." I sighed.

"Same, dude. Didn't answer my question, though." Mikey looked at me.

"Mikey, he's fine. He's a... friend?" Donnie looked over at me with a questionable look.

"Yeah. A friend." I nodded and Donnie nodded and smiled.

"What the shit are you guys?!" Garrett started to freak.
