It was around midnight and I was sitting up in my living room watching late night TV when I heard the window creak and Donnie came in.
"Hey. How was patrol?" I asked, moving over so he could sit beside me.
"Horrible." He said and I muted the TV.
"Wanna talk about it?" I asked and he sighed, nodding, so I moved to sit facing him, and he just lied back, leaning against the arm of the sofa, facing me with his legs outstretched a little.
"Well, I'm usually the one my brothers go to if they have a problem. I've just kinda been thinking lately, who can I go to for my problems? And... besides that, we all got in a huge fight this patrol run. Raph was being mean to Mikey, Leo told Raph to stop, Raph and Leo got in a fight, I tried to break them up and make Mikey feel better at the same time... long story short, it was a disaster. I'm just really tired and I need a break." He said and I nodded.
"I understand. Well, you can stay here as long as you want. And, I guess I'm now the person you can tell your problems to." I smiled and he gave a tired smile to me.
"Thanks, Dorian. Means a lot." He sighed and stretched a bit.
"Come on, you look exhausted." I said, getting up and pulling him up.
"Oh, I could just camp out on the couch here..." He said and I took his hand and dragged him to my room.
"Hell no. You'd murder your back." I said and pointed to the bed. "I sleep on the left. The right is yours." I said and he blushed a bit and stammered.
"Uh, you're going to s-sleep in the same bed as- as me?"
"Yeah. I trust you, Donnie." I shrugged and slipped into the bathroom to get dressed. I pulled on some sweatpants and took off my bra. I washed my face and brushed my teeth and went back and sat on the left side, seeing Donnie's gear strewn across the floor.
"You're okay with this? Cos I can go on the couch-" I started and he turned over to face me, his eyes still closed.
"No, I couldn't make you do that. It's alright, I don't really care. Just turn the light out." He said and I chuckled.
"Night Donnie." I hummed and turned my lamp off, lying down and staring at his face, illuminated by the moonlight for maybe half an hour before falling asleep.
I woke up in my usual fetal position, but I was closer to Donnie and my head was tucked right under his chin. His arm was around my back and resting on it. He was awake and staring out the window on my side.
"Hey." I cleared my throat and looked up at him. "How'd you sleep?" I asked.
"Great, actually. Thanks a lot, Dorian." He smiled down at me, and I noticed he put his glasses back on.
"Anytime." I grinned, glad I did something that could help him. I got up and closed the curtains to block out the sun and went straight back to bed.
"I was thinking I'm going to go back to my brothers this afternoon. I think everything will be resolved by then." Donnie said and I nodded.
"Alright. What do you want to do today?" I asked, slightly sitting up.
"I don't know. What do you usually do?" He asked.
"Oh, me? I read, I colour, I watch Netflix, I watch TV, I listen to music, I write. Sorry, I'm not exactly an exciting person." I said and he sat up and smiled at me.
"Exciting enough for me. You write?" He asked, looking interested.
"Yeah, I want to be an author, so I'm just working on little short stories and ideas for novels." I shrugged.
"Can I read some?" He perked up and my eyes widened.
"No! No no no!" I said and he laughed and looked confused.
"Why not?"
"They're embarrassing! I can't have someone I'm close to read them! I think I'd die!" I said and he grinned.
"We're close, huh?" He asked and scooted a bit closer to me, making my cheeks flare up.
"I mean- uh..." I stammered and he chuckled and pulled me in for a hug.
"It's alright, Dorian. I get it. Let's see what's on your Netflix list." He said and got up, pulling me to the living room.
