Saving us from ourselves

Phil's POV

*arriving at the hospital*
"Sit in the waiting room. A nurse will come get you once you can see him," a paramedic told us. Maddie and Andi were in hysterics. I didn't know how to stop them from crying. I took each of their hands and walked them to the waiting room. I  as trying to hide the fact that inside, I was worse than they were on the outside because of this. We sat down. I wrapped my arm around Maddie. She cried into my shoulder.
*three hours later*
Maddie fell asleep in my arms and Andi fell asleep leaning on the chair next to her. Still no sign of Kaeli and Mark. I'm getting a little concerned. They should be here by now.
As I'm about to fall asleep, a nurse walks out to the waiting room. "Mr. Lester and others," she says. I shoot up, waking up Maddie and Andi. Maddie fell off her chair because of me jumping up so fast. I help her up and off we go to find Dan.
*in Dan's hospital room*
We slowly open the door and Dan turns his head towards us. Andi runs towards Dan and hugs him, crying. Maddie starts crying, relieved that Dan is ok. I walk over to Dan with Maddie and sit on the uncomfortable chairs that are provided. Dan looks from Andi, to Maddie, to me. Once he sees me, Dan stops. I look at him, wondering what has happened. This has never happened before. We were all concerned.
Dan takes Andi's hand and opens his mouth to talk, "Don't worry about me. I am fine. It was just an allergic reaction to something in the shake I had. There was a small bit of this one thing that I don't remember what's it's called in my shake. I am fine now. I won't have a shake there again. I'm perfectly fine.
Maddie and Andi hugged each other and happy cried while a single tear silently rolled down my face. Everything was good again.
I wondered to myself, Where are Mark and Kaeli?
