Saving us from ourselves

Andi's POV

Maddie and I walked back to our apartment to get some pajamas and clothes for the next day. Once we had everything, we headed back to Dan and Phil's place. Maddie and I offer to take the living room after promising to get Dan and Phil if we need anything. They turned out the light and I fell asleep quickly. A few minutes later, I was woken up by some rustling of blankets and a popping ankle. Maddie's up. I thought to myself. Why would she be up in the middle of the night. She should be sleeping. I stopped questioning Maddie's reasons for being awake and tried to fall asleep. I was almost asleep when I heard knocking on a door. I opened my eyes and tried to focus on what was happening. Maddie was outside Phil's door. The door to Phil's room opens and Maddie walks into his room. The door stays open. I walk into the hallway to see what they're saying.
"Maddie, it's gonna be ok. Don't worry about it." I hear Maddie sniffling. "But Phil," she says, "what if she gets hurt? What if I can't save her? I can't help her."
I notice Phil starts to sniffle too. "Well maybe she can live with you and Andi or San and I. I'm sure he would be alright that and Andi would understand fully." I wanted so badly to walk in and ask what they were talking about. "Phil. Can I spend the night with you?" Maddie asks between sobs. "Of course you can, Maddie. You can whenever you want."
After hearing this, I decided to go lay down on the couch again. Again, as I was almost asleep, I heard footsteps. I sat up and opened my eyes, looking towards the hallway. "Andi?" I hear Dan call my name. "Yeah? I'm awake."
"Can I come lay by you?"
"Yeah. Are you having trouble sleeping?"
"Yeah. I wasn't sure if you were awake but I guess I wanted to be by you too."
"That's no problem, Dan. I'm here for you."
Dan lay down next to me on the couch and wrapped his arms around me. I smiled to myself as I was finally able to find asleep.
And then the dream started...
