Chapter 15
This morning, Di had gone off to work, her and Darren had mated. But I was on a strict regime. No work whatsoever! Because I am still pregnant.
THANK THE GODS!
But I was and will be in the care of the pack doctor until, well, until I give birth. Which is pretty much for the duration of my pregnancy.
It was as I was sitting, my nausea becoming somewhat iffy at best, that Andrew, scooting around, he took the unopened letter from my grandmother off of the coffee table where it sat and gave it to me. I looked at him, his tilted his head, almost daring me to read it, so I finally read the letter my grandmother wrote for me..
'Dearest Tarnya,
I have been having waking dreams of you. I know what you will be needing, but one thing I really want to tell you is this. I cannot say what I need to say in a forward fashion, but I need to say it in a riddle, for you would know its value.
Here it is:
"In the drawers by your bed,
One will show where knowledge is fed."
This would be the starting point. I will lead you to the treasure you would need in your future. It shall be done, but you need to hurry on, for someone is seeking what is rightfully yours.
Hurry, for time is short!
I love you my granddaughter,
Your grandmother,
Elizabeth Joan Love. (Née Arthur)'
I got up, my ever so slight baby belly preceding me when I walked into my room. Thankfully, my stomach staid quiet for once. I thought of the clue. I tried thinking scientifically which led me nowhere fast! But then I tried thinking logically, literally.
I sat on the floor, and checked each and every drawer. I looked under them, then I found it, tucked into the fake bottom of the top drawer on the side of the bed that I sleep on. I almost ripped it open.
'Dearest Tarnya,
I see you found the first clue. But hurry, whomever is seeking the treasure I left you is looking in all the wrong places, soon they would start looking in the right places, then all is lost.
The next clue is as follows:
"In the place by the pane,
Loose wood shall be lain."
Hurry, for time is short!
I love you my granddaughter,
Your grandmother,
Elizabeth Joan Love. (Née Arthur)'
I went to the window chair after I figured it out. It took me a few minutes to find my next clue. And so it truly began.
Hours later, when Nex was about to arrive home, I finally found it. I was in the secret drawer in my old roller front desk. But as I sat in bed, my legs finally about ready to give way, that Nex walked in. He kissed me on my head then the kids scooted off after him, leaving me to open my prize.
Inside, were multiple deeds to massive blocks of lands. Two to each continent! Except for North America, seeing as I already had one of them. Along with the deeds was an account, this being where rental payments were deposited by tenants.
I laughed to myself. I was gonna pitch my ideas to Nex, and speak of the devil, he came in. He sat beside me and I told him. "I was thinking, I wanted a private way of transportation, not only for my pack, but for people that would pay for the usage of planes and boats that were gutted and done up in luxury.
"Also a dozen and one of each, of both planes and boats, the 'and one' would be the lead of the fleet, if we needed to flee for any reason what so ever. The fleets each had something different in them. One would completely be cargo, eleven would be residential, the last would be the one that holds almost all communications devices and lots of weaponry if things should get dicey.
"But to cover our pack private fleet, I wanted to do get more so that our fleet was, camouflaged, for lack of a better word. A needle in a haystack pretty much. I want this so that it was our ace in the hole, if need should come into existence." I said.
He liked the idea, liked how it sounded and liked it even more when I told him we could have sub-packs. He studied the documents and gave them his approval as he put the go ahead to do our next project together.
That night at dinner, I was knackered! And I slept peacefully.
