I'm about to introduce my favourite character of this story! I loved writing about him and all of his witty characteristics. I hope you like him too!
This story has a very close resemblance to Twilight but that's because I was reading the books at the time and tend to pick up on certain ideas due to what I'm reading!
Don't let it put you off though! The outcome is very different!

As Inigo led them to Biology, Zoe's suspicion that the town was hiding something grew. It was just too obvious. Something was definitely wrong and since joining the high school, her suspicions had only doubled. Now she was positive that something bad was being kept from her and her family. Instead of being worried about this massive secret everyone else seemed to know about, their suspicious nature only made Zoe curious. She wondered whether they were planning something or doing something bad that would spoil their reputation in front of their new neighbours. After all, everyone seemed to know everyone else in this town.

Whatever it was, Inigo was very much involved. Though she doubted herself, his constant eye changes had to mean something. Maybe they had a disease they didn't want her knowing about it, or maybe they'd invented something and they were testing it out on the town before distributing it to the rest of the world. Whatever it was, Inigo obviously wasn't happy about it. She wished she could help, but she had a feeling that they really didn't want her involvement.

Inigo held the door open of the classroom for her and she stepped inside. The warmth of the enclosed room sucked the breath out of her. As if she'd let out a squeal, everyone looked up at her, their eyes wide with wonder. Their reactions were very disturbing and quite worrying for her to witness. It was like she was the main part of a stage production or someone on TV advertising the largest chicken in the world.

The teacher stuck his nose in the air and gazed at her silently.

What was wrong? Was her hair a mess? Did she have stuff all down her front? Was she wearing the wrong things?

She looked down at herself but couldn't find anything out of the ordinary. She looked perfectly normal. True, she was the ugliest in the school but there was no need to stare and be rude. Maybe it was just a rude town. To be fair, they were removed from society, so it shouldn't have been so surprising to see their odd behaviour towards her.

However, even when a new kid came to one of her old schools, at least one person was overly friendly and helpful towards them. These new classmates looked as if they were about to jump out of their seats with the amount of tension in their faces.

The room was darker and more dull than a normal classroom. The walls were painted black. White notices hung up around the walls showing pictures of hearts and bodies and organs. The windows had been tinted so that the sunlight from outside was disguised. Only the lights made it bright enough to see where she was going. The room looked so small and cramped from afar but it was obvious by the amount of students sat at their desks that it was quite a spacious area.

Tables were lined in neat rows with an isle down the middle. It reminded Zoe of a funeral. Everyone looked so gloomy, or had been gloomy, until they'd seen the new girl and had come to full alert. She didn't understand why it was so dark. The colour of the walls made the room feel like a damp cave. She was surprised there weren't any bats hanging from the ceiling. They obviously weren't a big fan of colour. The whole thing was the complete opposite of her last school that had been attacked with a neon paint brush in every corner of the building to 'encourage enthusiasm.'

Inigo followed her inside and closed the door behind him. It was only then did Zoe realise how much of a presence Inigo held. He carried such a strong sense of authority that it terrified even her.  He seemed more like the teacher than the teacher himself. Suddenly everyone was lowering their heads and fiddling with their thumbs as if they'd been caught committing a deadly crime. He had quite an effect on them.
