Chapter 3

Luke's POV- A few days later

To: Cassie😵😲

Wheeeeere are you?

I text her as I wonder around the mall.

From: Cassie😵😲

Right behind you :P

I turn around and see her standing with a couple bags in hand. "Hey there."

"Um help?!" She laughs

I give her a hug and take a bag from her. "I thought you were gonna wait for me."

"You took too long." She says and guides me towards the food court.

"Hey! I'm sorry. I was with Tilly and-"

"With Tilly?" She lifts a brow

"It's not like that. We just went to see a movie no big deal." I say

"No big deal? She's like in love with you and you took her to the movies?" She asks sitting down

"I don't like her and I only took her because she said she was really bored and wanted to watch that movie so." I say

"I don't understand how you can be so nice." She says

"That's just me. I can't help it." I smile

"I know I know. That's why you're best friends." Cassie says looking at her phone

She suddenly laughs. "What's so funny?" I asks

"Just my friend. Remember the new girl everyone was talking about?"

I nod.

"Well we started talking during Chemistry and she's so cool. Like she's really nice and funny. You two would get along pretty well if I say so myself." She smiles

"Haha no. You're not setting me up with anyone. I don't do the whole relationship thing remember?" I say taking a sip of her soda

She groans. "Why not? Why are you so against it?"

"I'm not against it. It's just that things haven't exactly been working for me in the whole love department so..."

She sighs." That's it. You're going to give up because one girl broke your heart?"

"How do you know there's someone?" I asks questioningly

"Because I'm not stupid. You don't have to say anything for me to know that there was a girl." She says as if she were a genius

"I just-"

"Don't want to talk about it. I know." She says and gets back to her texting

"I'm sorry Cass." I say

"Yeah yeah. It is your secret so if you dont want to tell me you don't have to." She says offering a warm smile

"Thanks so when can I meet this mysterious new girl who is so down-to-earth and all?" I ask

"Tomorrow! The past few days her Mom's been picking her up for lunch but I told her she could sit with us." She says excitingly

"What about Heather?" I ask

"What about Heather? That girl won't say anything." Cassie explains

"Okay. I'll back you up if she yells at you." I say

"Well duuuuh. That's what best friends are for." She says

THE NEXT DAY- lunch

I sit down talking to Calum about how much I love Blink 182. Calum plays bass and I play the guitar. It's not too serious but it's still a hobby along with football.

"Tilly stop clinging on to Luke!" Drake, Tilly's twin brother says

"Shut up Drake!!" She says

I begin laughing and give her a small smile because I feel bad a little bad and kind of awkward. I continue my conversation with Calum.

"Where the hell is Cassie?" Brenna asks while I keep talking to Calum.

"She's right there." Heather says

I here people exchange hi's. "So guys this is my new friend..."

I look up and I can't believe it. "Brooke?"
