Brooke's POV
My mother hugs me tight. She plays with my hair as I let the tears escape. She whispers, "It's going to be, okay. I promise."
"It just hurts Mom. It hurts and I hate that I made him go through this." I wipe a tear that was stuck on my right cheek.
My mom rocks back and forth, trying to sooth me. When I was little, it use to work. Just being held by my mother seemed to do the trick.
"Oh honey, you had your heart in the right place. You have your heart in the right place right now. You're not letting Luke hold back and I'm sure when things start picking up, he'll have you to thank for that." My mother explains kindly.
"I know. He needs to go. I need him to go." I reply.
"It's hard letting go, Brooklyn. It's so god damn hard," she refers to my father, "but you have to do it. You have to be strong for yourself and others around you."
"I don't know if I can be strong, Mom."
She shakes her head. "That's impossible. You're my daughter, remember?"
I giggle a tiny bit. "That's true."
"Oh baby, I know you're gonna be okay. I can see it." She moves my hair to the side.
There's a knock at my door. My mother and I look at each other before she gets up to answer it. "Hello, Justin. What're you doing here?"
I get up and look outside. "Oh I was just here to get Brooke." He says
I pop my head out the door. "Whoa Brooke you look...um," he scratches his neck, "great."
I roll my eyes. "Thanks, Justin."
He laughs. "I need you to come with me."
"Why?"
"Please, you'll love it."
I sigh and grab my purse. "Okay. I'm trusting you..."
Once I get into the car, he turns on the music. He doesn't answer any of my questions. We just drive.
He stops at the diner and parks his car. "What are we doing here?" I shut his door.
He leans on his car and points to Cassie. "Cassie?" I walk over to her.
"Hey." She smiles
"What are you doing?" I look at her car. Soon Ashton and Michael come out. They smirk once they see me.
"Hi, Brooke." Michael hugs me. Ashton then takes me into his arms. "We just wanted to thank you so much for setting the tour up for us. It's completely unreal."
I giggle softly. "I love you guys."
"We love you too." Michael says
"So that's why Justin picked me up?" I ask
"Not exactly..." Cassie takes out her car keys and dangles it in front of me.
"Where are we going now?" Michael and Ashton lead me to car.
"It's a surprise." Michael scoots onto the seat. Ashton sits on the other side of me and smiles.
"What's going on?" I look at everyone.
They don't respond.
"Ugh..." I sigh

"Now we're at a park." I look at the sign that says 'Lakeside Park.'
"Come on, Brookie." Ashton holds into my hand and opens the door for me.
Once I get out, I'm greeted by Calum. He's dressed nicely and he's holding a rose. "Calum...?" I take the rose from his hand.
"Hey, Brooke." He smiles.
I laugh as everyone surrounds me. They all have huge smiles on their faces. "Guys...what's going on?"
Cassie shrugs. "Well, Cal's gonna show you something."
Calum links his arm with mine and pulls me. "Come on!"
I sigh and follow him. Calum stays quiet and walks a little slowly. "How are you doing?" He asks
"Honestly? I'm really sad. I know it's going to be stressful, but I want him to go. I want you guys to go."
"You're a good girlfriend, Brooke." He says
"Thanks, Cal."
We then arrive to this huge fountain. Standing by it is Luke. Luke is wearing a black tux. He's holding a floral corsage. "Luke..." I smile at him.
He gives me a small grin. "We never went to homecoming together. You promised remember?"
I laugh at him. My face falls to my hands and sigh. "Luke, if I knew you were going to recreate Homecoming then I would've looked better."
"The point was to surprise you, B." He slips the corsage on my wrist. "And you look beautiful."
"I can't believe you did this, Luke." I say
"Anything for you." He kisses me. "Alright Michael, Ashton and Calum, start playing."
They all come out with their instruments and begin playing one of their original songs. Calum sang first. "For awhile we pretended that we never had to end it.."
Tears began forming as I listened to the lyrics. Luke has his arms wrapped around my waste and I have mine around his neck.
"Don't cry." He touches his forehead to mine.
"I love you." I sniffle
"I love you, too." He says swaying back and forth.
I shake my head. "I can see it. You traveling all around the world. Try not to break too many hearts." I joke
"Nah," he shakes his head, "I won't."
"Promise?"
"Promise." He confirms.
