Tyler's pov

I slammed the basket ball against the ground, letting it bounce back up into my hand as I hit it back down again.

It was early in the morning and I had just finished basket ball practice with coach. My mind was racing with nervousness, I couldn't get that boy out of my head. A big part of me was trying to forget what happened yesterday and convince myself it was just my imagination, but I knew it was real and that's what's stressing me out.

I continued slamming the ball against the ground as I muttered away to myself, shifting from pacing back and forth to walking around in circles.

"I am tyler joseph, I'm a straight male who's goal and dream is to be a basket ball champion, I have many friends and am well liked by pretty much everyone. I'm straight I am so straight that I'm just the straightest-" I stopped my muttering when I caught a glimpse of another figure at the other end of the ball court.

I grabbed the ball and clutched it to my chest. Its him. Of course its him. He's here to fuck everything up.

I cleared my throat and leant back on my heels, my toes lifting off of the ground as I turned and quickly went to walk away.

"Aw don't go, you aren't frightened of me are you?" His voice sounded through the thin air, I could almost hear his smirk.

"I-uh-I-um-heh.." I stuttered quietly, as I tried to reply, but my mumbles weren't loud enough to be heard...thank goodness.

I continued swiftly walking off of the ball court.

"I figured you'd be here." He spoke aloud in a thoughtful tone.
"Getting in some basket ball practice before school."

From his voice I could tell he was still over the other side of the large sports hall.

"I wanted to come check on you."

I furrowed my brows a little bit as I made it to my sports bag and shoved my basket ball into it.

"Maybe chat a bit before school starts, see your reaction from yesterday's events." He continued on.

Is it my queue to say something now?
Should I speak? Or is he not done talking? Maybe I should say something?

I stood up, slinging my bag over my shoulder in the process. I almost fell back when I realised he was now suddenly standing near me.

"Are you good?" He asked me almost in a caring manner as he looked down at me, his hands in his pockets and a serious expression on his face, different to the usual smirk he wears.

Play it cool tyler, play it cool.

"Uh, yeah I'm good...bro."

Why did I say bro? I never say bro? How is that playing it cool? Why the hell-I don't even know what I'm doing.

Just keep talking to cover up the awkwardness.

"It's just um, I don't mean to let you down or anything..but I'm not gay, but good luck finding someone of your kind." I shrugged and gave him a little good luck buddy smile as I gave him a light bro-punch on his shoulder.

He looked down at his shoulder and than back up at me as I quickly withdrew my hand and devoured my insides for being so weird.

Okay abort mission abort abort!

I then gave him a nod as a goodbye and then walked past him as I quickly started trying to walk away so I could get out of the sports hall before he started questioning what I had just said to him.
