5~ All broken and joined by regrets!

"Hello! ya yes dad.....naah I'm fine....." I spoke over the phone stepping out of the lift.

"Yes......oh...okay...ya...I'll try and visit......no dad.....I'm not dating anyone ...yes....ya--......ouch!! What the!!" I cursed immediately having bumped into someone.

"I'll speak to you later..." I spoke one last time over the phone to my dad before I changed my gaze to see whom I had bumped into.

"I'm so sorry!!" came the immediate reply. I looked down at the figure who was rubbing her temple's like me.

Nandini.

"God!! Can't you just see and walk?" I snapped back immediately.

This girl was just everywhere!! This was the third time I was going to argue with her.

"I'm....sorry!!" she repeated again and with that she looked back at her phone. And within seconds, she was all lost again. What was it with her?!

I waited there, for her to look up at me but she was all engrossed in her phone and that, tested my patience all the more. I thought for once wether I should remind her I , her new boss! was standing there but then decided the other way round was a better option.

I snatched the phone from her hand and immmediately my eyes caught the last message.

"Surprise awaited!..."

I shifted my gaze to see who the sender was but she snatched her phone back within seconds.

" That's my phone! !" she reminded me. Her tone argumentative.

"I know that....but you should know!!....you don't come here to chat and play surprise surprise right!!" I said mentioning the fact that I had already read the message. Her face immediately tensed. And I didnt have anything to do but, to watch and note the changing expressions her face exhibited.

"No..its not like that!!" she finally said looking down as if to hide her expressions.

I looked down at her weak figure. She was different. When I expected her to fear she wouldn't and when I didn't ,she did. I didn't know what was wrong with her but then it was just the first day!! How could I possibly know her?

"I don't care what it's like!!.....next time....watch out okay!!" I snapped back ,warning her and being finally pulled back out of my judgement zone. I knew she would have something ready to defend herself with but she didn't utter a word. She just stood there, blankly; looking about everywhere but at me!

"Anyways...kaal meeting hai...I don't want to be late tomorrow...and--" but she cut me off in the middle.

"Yes I know...Alya aksed me to get western clothes.....I can't go like this na so...." she said eyeing  her clothes before she finally faced me. Her statement surprised me. What did the meeting have to do with clothes?!

"Wait what?!...I didn't mean that!!" I said defending myself.

"Its okay...sir....I'll buy them....waise bhi I was going...."

"Listen Nandini.......you don't need to buy any clothes okay.....just wear what you want!..." I spoke with assurance in my voice.

"But--"

"You'll  wear the clothes you have! That's it...I don't want you to feel uncomfortable infront of strangers...."  I said and I knew my words had startled her. She never expected me to be kind! And frankly, neither did I! I didn't know why I said that. Maybe because of the way she said it or whatever; I don't know.

She smiled at me. And yes, for the first time in the whole day did she give me a genuine smile and with that she walked away.
