"And they lived happily ever after"

She shut the book and kept it beside her on the bed, caressing my hairs again. I knew she knew I wasn't asleep yet when she started speaking to me in await of an answer.

"Nandu? "

I waited for her to take my name again.

"Nandu?"

"Haan ayii" I whispered back viewing her through one open lash.

" Be strong beta " she said and I sensed her hands had stopped caressing my hairs.

"Ayyi? ! " I asked unable to understand the context.

"I know you have always been right....."

"Ayyi app kya bol rahe ho?!" I asked sitting up, facing her.

She stood up with my motion. I saw her stand beside the bed with a pale face.

"Stay strong " she whispered again.

"I will" I knew had to be the answer then.

The door flung open the next moment. I saw a man enter. He was not my dad. I didn't know who it was then.

He glared at my mother. As if she had just committed a crime. It seemsed as if she was forbidden to meet me. I could feel my hands turn cold.

I knew it was the precursor to something bad. I just knew.

He looked into my eyes and then held my ayii my her arms, twisting them back. He had no shame.

I was frightened.

Everything happened in the sour of the moment.

I shivered in fear.

He pulled her out of the room and shut the door with a bang.

"Be strong " she whispered the last time.

"Be strong " she kept pleading.

Her voice faded. Forever? !

I ran to the door. It was locked.

I was trapped.

Trapped....

Trappe....

Trapp....

Trap....

My head was filled with images. I felt sharp, alive and curious . I didn't know what that meant. My eyes shot open suddenly . I was scared and enraged by the last vision .

With a dropped jaw, buggy eyes, and sweaty palms my hot, salty head popped up from my warm pillow in a heart-pounding state of emergency. After a second of massively intense panic where I zoomed into brain-rushing, adrenaline gushing overdrive, it just suddenly just dawned upon me ...

It was all just a dream.

It was all just a dream.

I calmed myself somehow.

I stepped into the office building wearing my regulars- a long pink kurta with a white leggings underneath, along with the official stuff I carried. I was still carrying the invitation though unsure whether to attend.

I walked down the hall and to the lift passing smiles to the freshers when I found Alya rambunctiously moving about.

I guessed ignoring was the best option. Why poke my nose in matters that didn't concern me?! Right?! I started walking closer to the lift but alas my fate! She bumped into me and all the papers that she carried in her went flying up in the air. They scattered all over and we already had spectators everywhere.
