three - Do Cosmo Girls Have Trust Issues Too?

The seats vibrated around her, as Lexi's leg bounced repeatedly and furiously in her Psychology class.

Her big dull brown orbs, eyed two seats in the front of the room, where Noah was in his original seat, while Zoe was sitting right next to him.

'I'm not as mad at Emma as I was yesterday. At this point, I'm just upset, which is why I avoided meeting up with the gang this morning. That, and, if I seen Noah, I was going to go on a ranting spree about Zoe that I was most likely going to regret later and feel like a total ass.'

''Say you're a zebra,'' Ms. Lang begins, starting off with an anology. ''You need to learn to face the lion, but you don't want end up on the menu. So, what's the zebra's brain do? It uses nightmares to simulate the conflict. Make sense. They live their lives in constant fear of attack-''

The brunette rolls her eyes when she hears a constant sound of typing behind her, knowing fully well it was Brooke.

''I texted Jake'' She whispered over to Emma.

Emma props an elbow on her desk and rests her chin in the palm of her hand. ''I guess you're not a Cosmo girl, after all.''

The blonde let's out a soft puff of air. ''Shut up. I even told him a quick response would get him a boob pic. Still nothing.''

Lexi brought a hand to her temple, exhaling audibly when tugging back at the loose strand of hair behind her ear. Not only was she stressed about Noah, but the one person that's one call away, hasn't been answering. So she can understand Brooke's frustration.

''Brooke, Emma, Lexi, can either of you tell us what our friends, the scientists, call this adaption?'' Ms. Lang calls out, alarming the Marta from her daze.

Usually Lexi would know what was going on in the class without having to pay attention. But this day was especially different. She wasn't in the mood to indulge with school, let alone people at the moment.

''Questions of science, science in progress, do not speak as loud as my heart'' Lexi sang, earning many snickers of amusement from around the room.

Ms. Lang pursed her lips and stared her down in disappointment, her weight dropping on her left leg.

Lexi shook her head. ''What? You said 'my friends, the scientists'. Who else would you have been talking about?''

Brooke gaped at the back on the brunette's head, a corner of her lips quirked into a smirk. She scoffed, ''Lexi.''

''Anyone else'' Ms. Lang questions to the rest of her students, giving Noah and Zoe the perfect opportunity to have their arms straight into the air, answering simultaneously, ''Threat simulation theory.''

Clenching her teeth together, Lexi furrows her brows as the two looked at each other with these grins plastered on their features. It was thee same type of grin, Noah used when ever Lexi was around.

''Question is: if prey animals dream of their predators, what does the predator dream of?'' Noah implies.

Zoe scoffs and says, ''Girl predators.''

Lexi sinks into her seat when others around her, laughed at the joke she made.

''The predator is us. Human beings'' Gustavo responds. Lexi head jerks for a split second, almost amused by the different perspective he responded with.

'Is this his first time speaking or am I just now noticing?'
