"Wanna play a game?" I tried opening up a conversation, I'm not going to sit the next five minutes in absolute awkward silence.

We were now sitting on the floor, leaning on the wall of my room. Each one on a side of the room.

"Oh, I like games." He turned his attention to me instead of the ceiling, smirking playfully.

"It's called twenty questions. I ask you a question and you have to answer. And you ask me a question back, same applies to me." I explained to him, hoping he'll agree. It's the only way I can get the answers out of him.

"Do you realise you basically want to investigate me when I don't even know your name?"

"Athena."

"A beautiful name for a beautiful face." My face heated up as I realised he just called me beautiful. Amusement tingled in his eyes when he saw me.

He clasped his hands together and put them on his knees, "Alright, Athena. but I'll pass if I want to."

"Fine." I agreed, crossing my legs and sitting straight. "So, you said you ran away, from where?"

"Home." He said, looking at the ceiling again.

"In hell?" I asked eagerly.

He rolled his eyes, "No, we live underground."

"Oh. But why?" he gave me a look, "I mean why you ran away, not why you live there."

"Because I hate it there, I hate my father and I hate my family and I hate every single thing."

Demons have fathers? and families? that's new.

"Do you- uh-?" I wanted to ask if they 'do it' like us, if his parents are biological, but I didn't know how to ask it in an unsuspicious way.

"What?" he furrowed his eyebrows, tilting his head.

"Uh.." I thought about an appropriate way to say it, "Get married? And give birth? Like us?"

He sighed, "Yes. We're just like humans, but with abilities. Each one has his own special ability."

"Really!? This is awesome!!" I squealed.

"No, it's not. There are six nephalem around the world ruling us, they are brothers and before them were their fathers and it goes on and on."

Nephalem? What the hell is that?

He saw my confused look and decided to explain, "Nephalem are the hybrids of an angel and a demon. Thirty years ago, they decided to take control of us, saying they're more powerful."

He took a breath before continuing, "They control our lives, who we marry, how many kids we have, they control everything in our lives. They have soldiers everywhere watching and seeing if we're going as asked. We can't disobey them, or they'll throw us up here. And we get thrown up here, we need to look for a home. That's when it comes to the haunting houses part, people who get kicked out choose a house that has people with small faith and belief, scare the shít out of them so they can leave and leave them the house, a place to live in."

"So why couldn't you just do that? Disobey them and come here? Instead of running away."

He chuckled, "It's not as easy as it sounds, when they throw them here they put a curse on them. They only last few months, then they die. That's their techniques, make them suffer then die."

"Oh" I let his words sink in. "But why didn't these soldiers catch you running away?"

"I have my sneaky ways." He smirked proudly.

"So you're not evil as they say?" I couldn't help but ask.

"Me or all of us? But it's no either way."

"So, they're only after you because you ran away? Cause that sounds stupid."

He suddenly tensed, "Shouldn't I be asking you questions as well? Cause I sense some cheating here."

"You can ask me whatever you want after that one." I tried, hoping for an answer.

He suddenly stood up, "I'll pass. I think they're gone anyway."

"Yeah, I think so." I said, disappointed I didn't get my answer.

"Oh, and by the way," he turned to me, his eyes cold.

Next thing I know, I'm pinned to the wall, my hands are pinned beside me as well. I looked up to see him close, way too close to me. My breath hitched in my throat, I forgot how to breath.

He leaned in and put his mouth near my ears, his hot breath hitting my neck, making my legs womble beneath me but I grabbed myself together.

No one has ever been this close to me. Ever. The thoughts of him touching me sent goosebumps all over my body, and I shivered a little bit.

"Tell anyone I was here or what I just told you, and I'll fücking murder you. Just because I treated you sweet, doesn't mean I am." He hissed, clear and dangerously in my ear.

He backed away a little bit, that now he's facing me again. I looked at his eyes, and he had those murderous look in them that made me whimper quietly.

He smirked when he saw my reaction, "Good girl. They're gonna think you're crazy if you did. So it's for your own good." He let me go of me and patted me on my shoulders. "Have a great life, Athena."

"Nice meeting you. Don't ever come again." I choked, still having breathing problems.

"We'll see about that." He gave me one last wink and disappeared heading to my bedroom wall.

Walls. Quite an exit, huh.

"Like they're gonna believe me, the crazy girl who tried to commit suicide. I have no one to tell anyway." I muttered after he left by a while, making sure he cannot by any way hear me.

I went to sleep thinking how sick I am for liking his hands on me and his body against mine.
