Your own little world
I feel abandoned and alone,
I'm quiet and forgotten.
Hidden and unwanted.
I'm hurting while abandoned.
I have salt in my wound.
People may forget me,
But most remember me in times of need.
What's funny is they don't want me
until they need something I've got.
I've got emotional support.
I give it away freely.
I've heard so many stories,
I could write a book!
Now that I need them,
They've turned a blind eye.
I've hit another cold heart.
For all who've done this to me,
I'm not a one-way mirror.
I'm not just there when you need me,
But you're there when I need you.
Right?
Shouldn't it be that way too?
Shouldn't care be a two way window,
Not just a one-way mirror?
Shouldn't you be there for me,
Just like I was there for you?
Shouldn't you listen to me,
Just like I listened to you?
Shouldn't you help me,
Just like I helped you?
But no.
I feel abandoned when I should feel cared for.
I feel alone when I should feel supported.
I feel quiet, when I should feel outspoken.
I feel forgotten, when I should feel the slightest but remembered.
I feel hidden, when I should feel actively engaged.
I feel unwanted, when I should feel like people are grateful.
But no, in your own little world, it's only about you.
