*dedicated to my cousin Taya. You are beautiful young lady, and don't you forget it!

As a female,

Society tends to feed me all these false expectations,

And before I know it,

I'm too fat,

I'm too confident,

I'm not smart enough,

I'm not good enough.

But when I stop listening to these false expectations,

And get the chance to evaluate who I am as a human being,

God made me the way I am for a reason.

My will to change me, will not work, unless it is His will to.

If God is perfect, and He made me the way I am, dosen't that make me... perfect?

But if in society's eyes, I'm fat and ugly, but in my Heavenly Father's eyes I'm perfect, who should I listen to?

Well, would I rather be fat and ugly, or perfect?

That's a no brainer.

I'd rather be fat and ugly,

Because then, when I'm sad, it's easier to make my self more sad and *snap! Self conscious for days.

I can get into this "woe is me" mode, where my life just sucks, and everyone else's has it figured out.

Both of those are lies.

My life doesn't suck,

And no one has it all figured out.

But once I am in this cycle,

The only way to escape is to pause.

Look around at all the good things in your life.

Look at those you help.

Look at those you encourage.

Look at those you empower.

Look and discover your favorite characteristics about yourself.

Help yourself.

Encourage yourself.

Empower yourself.

Until you learn to love yourself,

You will not be happy with yourself.

There is a reason that when people say "I love you", I reply "I do to". And then follow up with an "I love you too".

Why do I say "I do too"?

Because it's true!

I love me too!

Some may think I'm arrogant,

It is most likely me being confident.

I won't let society try to put me in a Barbie box,

Because if God wanted me to look like a Barbie, he would have made me a Barbie.

I know that I could lose a few pounds,

But I'm fine with that!

Because if I do lose those few pounds,

Society will still tell me I'm not enough.

And I would much rather not fall into that trap.

I will not let society put these impossible expectations on me.
