-Samantha's Pov-
I woke up with a jump. I shot up from where I laid and saw I was back in my room. "What?" I asked the empty space, rubbing my eyes in confusion.
I flipped the covers off of me, and looked at the mirror that sat across from my bed.
The soft pajamas engulfed me in warmth, hugging my skin loosely since it was oversized. I expected to see my white leathery fabric that was tight around my skin when I fought, but I was disappointed.
It felt like I was at my house the entire time, but I knew exactly what happened before I was awake. Feeling the soft carpet beneath me, I swung my legs over the edge of the bed, walking out of my room.
Amy and Taz sat on the couch, fighting over a television show to watch. "I want to watch Suits!" Amy said, ripping the remote from her hands.
"After the amount of times you have seen it, not happening." Taz yelled, reaching over her arms, failing her arms to get it back.
I leaned over the railing, getting their attention. "Hey Sam." Taz smiled innocently. "How are you feeling?"
"What happened?" I said, rubbing my forehead in confusion. "I swear I was just on top of HSBC Headquarters with the Sidemen."
"You were." Amy smiled, as if it was a good thing.
I rolled my eyes gently at her. "And?" I asked, trying to get the story.
"You got shot and you used up all your energy so you passed out. They healed you and contacted us." Taz finished.
"Did they look at my identity?" I stammered, holding onto my face, as if they have taken it off.
Cara shook her head as she walked into the room, the smell of pizza still strong from her day job. "No. The genius that contacted us made sure of it."
I saw her walk into the kitchen after hearing the beeping of the microwave signal her.
I looked down at my arms, making sure they didn't do anything to me. Ever since I was asleep on the couch and Cara and Amy decided it was a fun idea to use me as an art canvas, my trust has never been up to standards.
"They kept you safe." Cara said as she walked out of the kitchen with a bowl of popcorn. "That is all that matters."
"Well, it was weird." I admitted, taking steps down the stairs. "A whole different environment."
"Was Rewire looking fine?" Taz smirked, her eyes lighting up in excitement.
I rolled my eyes. "Wasn't paying much attention. I was busy trying to stand on my two feet." I laughed slightly.
Amy stood up, walking over to hang her chin on my shoulder. "Well, did you see Stormzy? He is your eye candy after all." She smirked, rubbing her hand on my shoulder gently.
"Yeah. He actually was very concerned about me. He wanted to keep me safe." I said, somewhat confused by his actions.
Taz raised her eyebrow. "Does Stormzy have a thing for Hyde?" She smiled, crossing her arms.
I rolled my eyes, laughing gently to the idea of it. "Superheroes keep each other in check. I am sure that was all he was doing."
I felt Amy nudge my arm, now standing beside me instead of ahead of me. "Come on. You have been dreaming of this fanasty for years. The one opportunity it might be real, you decide to shrug it off?"
"You have such a vacuous mind sometimes Sam." Cara commented, fixing her snapback, but then looked at us, seeing confused glances. "Oh my god. Just ask Suri!"
I pulled out my phone, following her orders. "Hey Suri?" I asked.
The ding played, letting me know that I could ask my question. "What does vacuous mean?"
It took only a second to load, and I read the definition it gave me, making me bite my lip to hold back any rude comments. "Really? You could have just said stupid."
"Wasn't as fun." She laughed, putting her arm along the top of the couch, settling down onto it and grabbing a small handful of popcorn to put in her mouth.
I took a seat next to Cara, leaving the conversation that I didn't want to continue talking about because I didn't know what Stormzy was thinking.
I could tell the way he looked in my eyes were not of assurance and didn't hold the same value against a glance from an acquaintance. The eyes showed more admiration and concern and held more emotion that I thought.
The memory was buried in my mind, continously replaying the moments were I saw his navy blue eyes that had a grey tint in them when he was close enough to me.
Nothing I did shook it off. It was being too distracting for me, and it began to give me a headache.
"Don't you need to head to the station?" Cara said, flipping over her wrist to check the time. "The news is starting in half an hour."
I groaned slightly, flopping onto the coach with my face. "Do I have too?"
"The Mezmerizing Minter will be there." Taz urged, raising her eyebrows.
"Can I call in sick?" I complained, still exhausted from the fight and I just didn't feel the need to get up.
I felt Amy zoom past me, picking me up, making me nearly fall on the floor to the transition. "You cunt." I growled in annoyance, but only in a joking manner.
They girls knew that I shouldn't be bothered with after I just woke up. I was the never a morning person, especially if it was a work day. My tired angry brain once made me flood the kitchen which took weeks to clean and get everything dry.
"You need to get to work dude." Amy urged. "After yesterday, you need at least one day there."
"Fine." I said, not changing the plain look on my face.
I fixed the collar of my shirt I was wearing, heading up the stairs. I heard Cara begin to talk about what show she wanted to watch, but I zoned them out, my mind was still trying to function after waking up and everything about Stormzy.
