-Sam's Pov-

We arrived, looking at a dirty brown structure, seeing the moss climb up against the corners of the building. "How long has this been like this?" I asked, stepping through the untamed grass that felt like a jungle around my legs.

"1988." He said, looking at it. "Tobi has been telling me about this spot for ages. He has been wanting to fix it up to be our new lair. But it needs work."

"I can tell." I said, seeing spraypaint everywhere on the building. "Its truly abandoned."

There was a gate behind us, seeing that its been blocked off. I felt this sense of loneliness where I stood. Everything felt shattered and irreplaceable, seeing how the plants overtook everything, I even saw a tree branch growing onto part of the building. Most of windows had wooden boards covering them, preventing people from getting inside.

"How could you guys fix the unfixable?" I asked. "What could you guys salvage to rebuild this? Its too broken."

"We are superheroes." He rebuttled. "We aren't meant to lose hope. Its in the job description."

I breathed in the smell of mold as I stood, turning to face him, giving myself a moment to compose myself from the atmosphere. Simon looked at me back, and smiled. "Alright, you ready to lose?"

It took me a second to get into the right mindset of fighting. Standing in the ruins broke my spirit, but I regained it, Simon reminding me what it meant to be a hero.

I smiled, as I felt energy surge within me. I grabbed onto my ring that had my ice powers under control and shoved it into my pants pocket. "You are asking for it." I warned him.

"We will see about that." He teased, as he shot off a powerful gust of wind towards me. I stood my ground, throwing my fists together, creating a water wall. I felt the wall bending against the force, making me push harder. I stomped hard onto the ground, having the surface of dirt and grass cover itself in ice.

Simon slipped on the ice, unprepared, making his gust of wind stop as he picked himself off the ground. I pushed water forcefully in his direction, causing his hair to drown in the burst of water. I stepped closer, but Simon melted the ice on the ground with the sun above us, soaking the ground in water. "It isn't that easy." He said, standing up.

He shot a bolt of lightning down above me, as quick as I could, I levitated water above my head and the reflection of the clear water made it bounce elsewhere. The electric ions of the lightning that stayed it sent popping sounds of electricity to escape above me. I pushed the water at him, forcing him to the ground, letting me hear a groan of pain escape from his mouth.

With his suit, I knew that with he worked with Rewire, and to avoid electrocution, it had to use a good conductor in the fabric so he couldn't get hurt as bad.

I looked at the building making me make an staircase of ice to get to the top. I raced up, watching Simon pick himself off the ground. At the roof, I couldn't see anything. It was covered in fog. Instantaneously, I turned the staircase into water, making it fall lifelessly to the ground.

Listening to everything around me, I heard the wind pick up. I was stronger than I thought, having my balance everywhere. I placed ice down at my feet to stablize myself, keeping me in place. I looked to my right, seeing Simon fly to the top with the change of atmospheric pressures at his hands. "You have great reflexs." He said. "But what about hand to hand combat?"

"You haven't even let me start." I grinned.

He laughed. "Well, how about a tornado for our ring?"
