Monday
The rest of the weekend had played out painfully slow as I tried to ignore the constant calls I got from Jungkook. You'd think I'd want to talk to him and give him a piece of my mind, but it was the complete opposite. I couldn't bare the thought of speaking to him right now. Not when I'm still hurting so badly. As much as I wanted to hate his guts, I couldn't deny the fact that my love for him was still strong. It made things that much harder.
For the first time, I was glad I wasn't in the same grade as Jungkook. I didn't know what I'd do if I had to have classes with him. However, I did still have to be in the same room as him when lunch came around.
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
My hands ached from the amount of bubbles I had to fill in on the exam. 100 questions to be exact. I sighed in relief at the thought of lunch. Even if Jungkook would be there, at least I could eat. Besides, I had Yoona to keep be company.
"Thank god we have chicken nuggets today. It's the only thing I can stand to eat in this hell hole.", Yoona said in disgust as we entered the lunchroom. My eyes immediately scanned the room of kids for Jungkook.
There's Tae...Jimin...where's Jungkook?
"Looking for the scum bag?", Yoona questioned, causing me to chuckle a bit. "Yeah, I was. I don't think he's here.", I said, surprised at the hint of disappointment in my voice. "Hm I don't see him...he probably skipped cause he's too scared to face you.", she said as she also searched the room. "Oh well. Let's get some chicken!", she cheered.
We sat and ate as Yoona blabbed on about a movie she wanted to see, but I couldn't help but let my thoughts wander off. It'd make no sense for Jungkook to skip school today. We have huge exams, and I know he isn't afraid to face me, because he's called over 50 times. Suddenly a thought struck me that made me want to puke up my chicken nuggets.
If our love brought him to life...can he die if we aren't together?
"U-um Yoona, I've got to go.", I interrupted her as I bolted up from my seat. "Wait what? Why? What's wrong?!", she questioned as I slung my purse around my body. "I'll explain later! Tell the teacher I had a family emergency!", I yelled over my shoulder as I ran out of the lunchroom, not caring that I was getting strange looks.
I dashed through the front doors of the building and ran as fast as I could to Jungkook's house. Thoughts raced through my head as my feet hit the pavement.
He can't be dead, right? He's gotta be ok. He's got to! That can't be how this works!
Tears stung my eyes at the thought of him being gone. Even if he did cheat on me, I'd be devastated if I lost him.
I finally reached his house to see that no cars were in the driveway. I began to panic even more as I ran up to the front door and rapidly pressed the doorbell again and again.
Maybe his parents are just out. What if they're at the hospital right now or something? What if -
My thoughts were interrupted when the front door swung open revealing a sickly looking Jungkook. I immediately pounced on him, wrapping my arms around his shoulders and holding him tightly in my embrace. He was wearing sweatpants but no shirt, and usually I'd be a bit more hesitant to hug him when he's shirtless, but now is not the time to be embarrassed. I was just glad to feel his warmth.
"Lily?", he questioned, his voice sounding hoarse. "I thought you were mad at me.", he said as he hugged me back just as tight.
"I am mad. Well more sad than anything, but I had to make sure you were ok. You didn't come to school and I thought...I thought maybe you were dead." I pulled away once I realized the tears streaming down my cheeks.
"What? Why would I be dead?", he said with a small smile as he began to wipe my tears with his thumbs. "W-well our love brought you back, and I thought that if we weren't together...you'd be gone.", I choked out.
"Hey, it's ok. I'm alright. I just have a nasty cold...I'd never leave you, Lily. I'd also never cheat on you. I thought Jimin explained to you what happened, so how come you haven't been answering my calls?", he said, sounding pained.
"Huh? Explain what?", I said, confused. He looked just as confused as I did.
"Here, come inside.", he sighed. I followed him to his room, and sat beside him on the bed. "So here is what happened. Tae, Jimin, and I were just standing around talking when this wasted girl comes up to me and starts getting all flirty. I told her over and over that I have a girlfriend! The words "please stop, I have a girlfriend" left my mouth about 10 times, but she just wouldn't leave, and right when you walk out, she kisses me. I swear to god I didn't kiss her, Lily. I was going to go after you, but Jimin told me it'd be best if he explained it to you, so I let him. Did he not tell you this, because they both witnessed it!" He explained everything, sounding very genuine. I knew he was telling the truth, but I was still mad.
Not at Jungkook though...at Jimin. How could he have known and not told me? He was willing to let Jungkook and I's relationship fall apart all because he wanted to make a move on me?
"Jungkook, I believe you. I know it wasn't your fault. But I need to tell you something about Jimin."
