TAP...TAP...TAP
"What the hell?" I roll over in my bed, as a loud tapping on my window continues to disturb me. I glance at my clock, realizing that it's 6 in the morning.I angrily shove the covers off of me and stomp towards the window to open my curtains, revealing the sun peaking over the horizon. I was expecting to see a branch or something that might have been hitting my window, but instead I look down to see none other than Jungkook with a bright smile on his face. I gave him a confused look, considering it was 6am, and apparently he thought it'd be a good idea to wake me up. "Come on!", he mouthed to me, gesturing his hand for me to come outside. I let out a groan, but quietly made my way down the steps, hoping not to wake my grandparents.
I opened the front door, and stepped out, feeling the dewy grass on my bare toes. I got a little embarrassed, realizing that I was still in my pajamas which consisted of some soft shorts and an oversized t-shirt. "Morning, sunshine.", Jungkook's voice greeted me, and I looked up to see that same cute smile of his. I wanted to cuss him out for waking me up, but I just couldn't. He was too cute.
"Good morninggg, Jungkook.", I yawned.
"Sorry for waking you up so early, but I couldn't resist. I wanted to see you.", he said as a shade of pink washed over his cheeks.
"Nah, it's ok.", I said while admiring his adorableness.
"I went outside this morning and saw this, and it made me think of you.", he said pulling a white flower out from behind his back. A Lily.
"Jungkook, it's so pretty. Thank you.", I said taking the delicate flower in my hands. My fingertips brushed against his, and I couldn't help but notice how cold they were. Was he always this cold? I also noticed how cold he was when we first met and shook hands, but I didn't want to mention it at the time. "Jungkook, are you sick?" I questined, taking his hand in mine. "Your hands feel like ice."
"No, I'm ok.", he said, drawing his hand back, and putting it in his pocket. "I must just have bad blood circulation.", he said with a small chuckle.
"Oh ok...well thanks again for the flower. It's beautiful.", I smiled. "Just like you.", he said barely above a whisper.
"What?"
"Oh nothing.", he said, looking away.
I pretended to not know what he said, but I heard him perfectly...<3
"Uh anyways", he spoke up. "I'm not sure if your grandparents told you, but there's a lake at the end of the street, and it's perfect for swimming. I was wondering if you'd maybe wanna go down there later...that is, if you can swim.", he laughed.
"Yes, Jungkook. I can swim.", I laughed, rolling my eyes. "And I'd love to.", I said with a wide grin.
"Great, I'll see you later then!", he said.
"See ya!", I waved as he turned to go back home.
Does this mean I get see Jungkook shirtless?
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
4 hours laterAfter my grandparents were finally awake, I thought I should ask them if I could go to the lake later with Jungkook.
"Good morninggg!", I chimed, as I strolled into the kitchen to see them eating breakfast.
"Good morning!", they said in unison. "I fixed ya some pancakes. Hope you like chocolate chip.", my grandpa said, putting a stack of pancakes in my face. "Mmm thanks! I love chocolate chip.", I said before taking a bite.
"So guys", I said, swallowing my food. "You know the neighbor boy, Jungkook? Well he asked if I could go to the lake with him today. Is that ok with you?", I asked before shoving another heap of pancakes into my mouth.
I looked up at them, waiting for a response, but instead they both just stared at me blankly, before exchanging weird looks. Worried looks.
"Is there something wrong?", I said, gulping.
"Honey...", my grandma spoke. "Jungkook has been dead for three years."
