I stood in Tae's driveway, helplessly staring up at the stars as tears continues to roll down my cheeks.
"Lily!", I heard a voice call from behind me.
"Go away Jungkook! I don't want to hear it!", I sobbed as he took my wrist in his hand.
"Hey it's ok. It's just me." I looked up to see a worried Jimin standing in front of me.
"Oh.", I said, feeling slightly embarrassed. "Do you need a ride home?", he asked. "No don't worry about it. I'll walk. Go enjoy the party.", I said as I began to turn around. "No wait. That's not safe. Let me drive you. I want to.", he said sincerely. "Ok.", I sighed.
I followed him to his car and got in the passenger seat without saying a word. "Where do you live?", he questioned, breaking the silence. "Old Oak Street.", I replied, not daring to look at him. I didn't want him to see the tears that wouldn't stop flooding my eyes.
"Oh I know where that's at. It's just a few blocks from Jung-" "Yep that's it.", I choked out before he had the chance to finish. I don't even want to hear that boy's name. "Oh...I'm sorry.", he said softly, realizing I didn't really want to talk about Jungkook.
The rest of the ride was silent. I'd usually feel awkward in a situation like that, but I was already feeling too many emotions to care. Betrayal...embarrassment...sadness.
"It's the third house on the left.", I spoke up as he turned on to my street. He pulled into my driveway and parked the car. "Thank you, Jimin.", I said as I reached for the door handle.
"Wait Lily.", he said stopping me. "I wanted to tell you something.", he said, turning his body to face me. "Uh alright.", I said, giving him my attention.
"Um...about Jungkook. I'm really sorry he did that to you, but I want you to know that it's his loss. He doesn't deserve you. You're so...you're so beautiful and nice, and your smile lights up a room.", he spoke as his eyes never left mine. "And if I were him, I never would've done that. I'd never ever do that to you."
I could only stare at him in shock as he then began to lean in towards me. I felt his hand slowly creep up my thigh, stopping right at the hem of my skirt as he brought his face just centimeters away from fine.
"J-Jimin.", I said, putting a hand against his chest. "That's enough."
He immediately pulled away and looked to the floor with an expression I couldn't quite read. "I'm sorry, Lily.", he said softly.
"I'm really flattered Jimin, but I can't do this. I just watched my boyfriend cheat on me, and I'm just not ready. You're a really nice guy though, and thank you again for the ride home.", I said as I opened the door and stepped out.
"Goodnight, Jimin.", I said, getting a sad half smile in return. "Goodnight, Lily." I shut the door and took a step back as he pulled out of my driveway.
