It's well past 12:00 in the afternoon when Laura makes her way down the stairs.

"Sleep well?" I ask, handing her a mug of tea.

"That's the best I've slept in a while." She says with a smile.

"Oh good! I asked Simon if he was ok with Angelo for a few hours so we could go shopping."

Her eyes light up. "Really? I haven't been shopping in a long time."

"I figured. They're having good sales at a bunch of our favorite stores, so we have to go!"

She smiles again, pouring cereal into a bowl.

I woke up this morning feeling really thankful, more thankful than usual. My life has become a dream come true, so to wake up to a kid of my own and a soon to be husband is so humbling.

Seeing Simon sleeping away usually makes me laugh as well. He was just like Angelo- they were nearly impossible to wake up.

However, a simple noise from a wall wakes me up.

Since I started the day out on a good note, it stayed that way throughout the entire day.

Laura and I must have been gone for six hours, shopping and buying anything our hearts desired. It was a bit scary how much we ended up spending, but I knew Laura needed to go out.

On the way home, she began to cry, but this time it was happy tears.

"I promise I'm not crying because I'm sad." She said with a laugh.

I laughed with her, saying, "You went all out today!"

"I couldn't help myself! 75% off is unreal."

I nod in agreement.

"Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey begins to play on the radio, and Laura becomes serious.

We sit in silence for a while, listening. I thought Laura would cry at any moment.

But she didn't. She smiled and turned to me with a calm face. "I had a dream last night." She says.

"Continue." I say, turning onto my street.

"My mum visited me. She told me not to be sad and that she was incredibly happy and felt very peaceful. Then I told her I missed her, and she said she was watching over me and was always with me now. I told her you were getting married in a month, and she told me that she saw me tell you I wasn't sure if I could make it."

My face gets serious and my heart beats faster with anxiety.

"She said, 'Adele is your best friend, and she was basically my other daughter. I'm going to be watching that wedding and I don't want to watch it without you being there with her. She asked you to be her maid of honor for a reason. You must go.' I woke up and realised she was entirely right. I wouldn't miss it for the world."

I pull into the driveway and hug her. My fears disappear. Laura would be there, just like I had always dreamed of.

"I'm proud of you, Laura. You're a strong woman." I say.

"Thank you. I honestly think I'll be alright now. I'll miss her but I know she's there. That dream really changed everything for me. It was like she gave me the piece of me that died with her. I felt whole again."

Feeling emotional, I give her another hug. She was so inspiring.

"I'm so glad. I love you so much." I tell her.

"I love you too, and I seriously need help with these bags."

We laugh, and her eyes aren't full of despair anymore. They're replaced with the bright happiness that she had before this all happened. She looks like Laura again, and I couldn't have been prouder.

Someone's arms wrap around my waist. I recognise them immediately.

"Simon, baby, I missed you!"

"I missed you more." He says, kissing my neck and then releasing his hands from my waist.

He stares at the bags on the bed and his jaw drops.

"Is this an intervention of some sort?" He says as he stares at the Chanel bag lying against his pillow.

I laugh. "You know I can't pass up a good deal when I see one."

"I'm starting to think you can't pass up anything that's black!"

I nod. "Yeah, I won't deny that."

When the shock of it wears off, he comes back over to me and hugs me.

"30 days until I can call you mine forever." He whispers.

I look at my ring and grin.

"It's hard to believe we've made it this far."

"I never had any doubt we would, baby. Just like you can't pass up anything black, I can't pass up anything as beautiful as you."

"You're quite good at the whole compliment thing, aren't you?"

"It's one of my few talents." He jokes.

We kiss for a few minutes until I get tired and pull away.

"I love you, Simon. I love you so much." I say as he climbs into bed.

He wraps his arm around me and responds, "I love you so much too. I'll love you forever."

I couldn't wait to say "I do."
