Marianne,17 yrs old,came home from another horrible day of school and her parents fighting again. Now,her parents don't care about anything that Marianne says or does because they were usually drunk or stressed out. Marianne was a smart girl who made principals list ever since kindergarten and that never bugged her parents. Jullian and Steve, Marianne's parents, were a mechanic and an orthodontist who both made an extreme amount of money,but live and have average things.
   On the other hand of the story, a classmate of Marianne's, Derrick, also 17, was an average student, had parents who love him, and care for him. They were a poor family, but never argued over finances or were ever drunk. Derrick was a great help to the family with his part time job as an Olive Garden Chef making $17.50 an hour. Hailey and Mark were always great when it came to life lessons or advice for Derrick's sake.
On a gray-humid Friday morning Derrick was hurriedly riding his black-white stripped mountain bike to school with the cool wind pushing back his copper brown hair. He was enjoying the weather,but still had time on his mind. Derrick took a sharp right turn and hit his breaks so suddenly when he saw someone in his way.
Unfortunately, he knocked the person in front of him down and into the middle of the rode and Derrick took a hard fall to the shoulder. Derrick shook off his fall and hustled over to who looked like one of his schoolmate's ,Marianne.

"Oh gosh,are you ok?"

"I think I am?"

"Holy shit!"

"What!"

" Your left leg..."

"Ye- Oh my goodness gracious gosh, it's bleeding like a waterfall!"

"My gosh, I'm so sorry, let me stop that!"

Derrick took his shirt off and tied it around Marianne's leg. While getting her leg tied, Marianne pushed her red brown hair behind her ears and started blushing because Derrick's abbs and act of kindness.

"Can you stand?"

"Yeah, I guess."

Derrick picked his bike up and had told Marianne to stand on and hold tight.

"Hey,but what if I'm to heavy."

"You look pretty light to me, get on!"

Marianne got on and she didn't even see any part on Derrick's body shaking like a wimp, instead he was riding incredibly fast,especially with a girl.

"You're not heavy at all, and if you're comfortable with it,how much do you weigh?"

"125 lbs."

"That's actually pretty normal for a girl."

"What about you?"

"190lbs, but more muscle than fat."

"Ah, I can obviously see that."

   When the two arrived at school, everyone was in shock seeing Derrick's shirt off. The teachers were also surprised and knew why Derrick's shirt was off,but they told him to go to the nurse and put a shirt on. School started  and everyone pretended like nothing happened.

~ 2 months later~

"Hey Marianne, would you like to come with me to the movies tonight?"

"Yeah,but what movie is it?"

"Raider's High Mark."

"Omg yes, that movie came out two days ago!"

   Marianne and Derrick went to see the movie and all that romantic stuff happened between those two love birds. Later they kissed each other goodnight and told each other they had a great time.

   The next day,took a turn a major turn. A sacrifice. And someone would have to put forth with the pain.

"Hailey did you see Derrick come back from school today!"

"No,but he texted me, he said he was with his girlfriend Marianne!"

"Oh ok, I'm fine with him being with her as long as he doesn't screw her over."

"Mark don't say that, you know he wouldn't pull that shit off."

   Derrick and Marianne were crossing the cross walk to Aren Mall for clothing and enjoying the beautiful fall weather. They tried on cloths that they liked,showed each other and asked how well they looked,and other boyfriend girlfriend stuff. When walking back across the cross walk, Marianne heard something loud like a bull's roar coming close. This something was suddenly defined to be a monster truck that was coming by Marianne and Derrick extremely fast. Marianne pushed Derrick forward, or more to the side walk,but when Derrick tried to save Marianne he saw an event that changed his life. The monster truck coming towards Marianne with power and it hit her into mid air and crack, Marianne was dead. Blood running out of her head and Derrick sitting next to her hopelessly knowing she's gone.
