Payton awoke, showered, and changed into a lazy outfit. She had sweatpants and yoga T-shirt.

She ate her favorite cereal.

She grabbed her car keys and pulled into her job's parking lot.

She walked in, and saw Jessica only there. Payton arrived early. By thirty minutes. Chase was already there, he came in thirty minutes before Payton, at least that's what their work hours say. He was always early, though, so he usually arrived a hour before Payton. Jessica was always early, she worked the same hours as Payton, though.

Jessica looked up, "You're early."

Payton nodded, and scanned the empty seats, "It's a ghost town."

Jessica looked back into her book, "Ironic, I'm also reading about a ghost town."

Payton saw Brooke. She worked the same hours as Payton, but she worked in the back. She was the one who dealt with money.

Payton walked up, "Hey, Brooke."

"Oh, hey." she looked up, "Aren't you supposed to help Chase with the dogs?"

"It's before opening." Payton replied.

"Oh. I lost track of time." she looked at a nearby clock.

"So, the party, you excited?" Payton asked.

"Duh." Brooke said and sat down.

Payton chuckled, "Me too."

Payton had a normal day, again. It was four. She was leaving, until she heard Chase talking to Jessica.

"The dog we treated early, it had fleas, over grown nails, ear infection, worms. We had to send it to a pound. The girl came in with it, she said she couldn't pay for it's medication. She was a volunteer." Chase explained to Jessica sadly.

Payton walked in, "What does that mean?"

Chase gasped, "Pay, I didn't know you were here!"

"I am," she replied with a frown, "what will happen to the dog?"

Chase answered, "You and I both know that the dog has a week, if they don't start medication by then..."

Payton said, "I don't have the funds to buy a dog and everything it needs. How much is the dog?"

"One hundred." he replied.

Jessica chimed in, "Other shelters are free, what makes this one so special?"

Chase shrugged, "Don't know."

Chase looked at Payton, Payton's heart melted as they spoke.

Finally Payton got home, changed into a pink button up and skinny jeans.

She arrived with Brooke to the party. Ashley greeted them.

"Hey," Payton smiled, "how are you?"

Ashley replied, "Great. And you?"

Brooke split off in search of Page, Jessica, Trevor, Chase, or Kyle.

"Good." Payton replied and followed Ashley into the living room.

"Where's the cake?" Payton asked Jessica.

Jessica shrugged tauntingly, "I must've lost it."

"It won't be the only thing you loose if you don't tell me where it is." she replied playfully.

Kyle dropped to his knee in front of Ashley. Everyone gasped.

"Ashley," Kyle said seriously, "you know how much you mean to me."

Ashley's tears began streaming down her face. Kyle held out a ring, "Will you marry me?"

Ashely nodded and the two hugged. Everyone cheered.

Kyle gave her flowers that he hid under a chair. She sniffed them and went to search for a vase.

"So," Payton scanned the house, "nice house. You two going to live here?"

"We've talked a lot about marriage. Yeah, we'll live here." Kyle replied.

"So, when should we be expecting Kyle Jr?" Chase chimed in.

Kyle looked over, "Whenever my wife is."

Everyone shared a laugh and Ashley returned. "Shall we go to eat cake?" Kyle asked.

Everyone went over and began dining.

Payton noticed Chase and Trevor slip out.

After awhile of them being gone, she searched for them. She found them on the porch, "What are you two talking about?"

"Nothing." they replied in sync.

Payton's brow furrowed, "That was rehearsed."

Chase and Trevor moved closer to the door, Chase sarcastically replied, "And so was that brow raise."

Trevor walked in, Chase followed. Payton began, but her phone caught her off guard and she jumped.

She sat on the porch and answered, "Hello?"

"Baby," her father replied, "how are you?"

"D-Daddy?" Payton asked, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, sweetie. Me and your mother were planning on visiting, is that okay?" he asked.

"Of course, Dad! When?" she asked.

"Oh, this-" he paused, "this Saturday."

"That's great! See you then." Payton replied.

"Can't we talk some?" he asked.

"Sorry, Dad. I'm at a party." she replied.

"Oh, have fun!" he said.

She said, "Love you. Bye." and hung up. She walked in.

"Who was that?" Trevor asked and everyone grew silent in curiousness.

"My dad." she replied.

Everyone began chatting, Trevor walked up, "Is everything okay?"

"Oh, yeah. Fine. It's just they're coming to visit Saturday." she replied.

He smiled and looked back and joined the conversations.

It was eight before she even left. She got home five minutes later and fell asleep quickly.
