Payton awoke to a delicious smell. She saw on the couch. Barney wasn't anywhere to be seen. She got up and walked into the kitchen, hoping she'd find Barney.

"Trevor?" she asked and rubbed her eyes.

Trevor turned around with a fork in hand, "Yeah, that's me."

"What are you cooking?" she asked.

He moved aside and she was something that she didn't know what it was.

He mouth watered. "Where did you learn to cook."

"Where did you learn to breathe?" he replied.

  "Huh?" Payton asked confused.

He frowned as his point didn't get across, "It comes natural."

"Oh." she said with a sheepish smile, "How long till it's ready?"

"A few more minutes." he said and started cooking again.

She saw he was busy and walked off to get ready.

She walked back and saw the plate full of food on the dining table. She sat down, "Where's-"

Barney rushed up, wagging is tail. She stroked him.

"Want to go to the dog park?" she asked. Barney continued wagging his tail.

She looked at Trevor, and back at Barney, "Come." she patted her lap.

He jumped up and Payton began eating. Barney would sniff at the fork with food on it. Although he never got it.

Trevor laughed, hearing his nose go crazy.

After eating, Payton let Trevor drive. Payton had Barney in her lap.

She walked with Barney trailing, Trevor walked behind to make sure Barney knew to stay close. "Funny thing is, we never taught him follow." Trevor spoke up.

Payton laughed and continued. She finally stopped and opened the gate to the fenced in area. Barney played with other pups and dogs.

A hour went by. A man walked up, around her age, "Hey. Is that chocolate lab, yours?" he asked Trevor.

"Yes." Trevor replied. Payton punched his shoulder and he looked over with a grin.

"It's mine." Payton said, and looked over at Barney. He was playing with another dog. His fleas were gone, and worms. Ear infection was the only thing they had to worry about. It wasn't contagious; the ear infection. Barney was healing faster than expected, so she didn't see problem. The ear infection was almost cleared up, anyways.

"Why?" Payton asked after her thoughts were complete.

The man smiled, "I'd like to ask you out."

  Payton's eyes widened, "You'd what?"

He repeated himself.

Payton frowned. She didn't want to go out. How did she let him down easy, that was the question ringing in her mind.

Trevor placed her hand in his, "Sorry, Sir, she's taken."

Payton looked over in surprise, but rolled with it.

  "Oh. Sorry." he smiled, "Bye."

"It's okay, really. Bye." she said and sighed.

She and Trevor glanced at each other and laughed.

They looked down and saw their hands in each other's. She retracted her hand, and he did, too.

Payton smirked, "Held my hand awfully long."

"You didn't seem to mind." he replied.

Payton was about to make a snappy comeback but her phone rang. "Ha!" Trevor exclaimed in victory.

Payton stuck out her tongue and answered, "Hello?"

"Hey," Chase said, "it's boring here."

"It's your job. It wasn't made to be fun." Payton replied.

    "Where are you?" he asked.

"At the dog park with Trevor." She replied.

"Put me on speaker phone!" Chase exclaimed.

  Payton done so warily.

Chase barked. The other dog's didn't do a thing.

Payton eased the phone to her ear and took it off speaker, "Nice try." She said with a smirk.

"Thanks." Chase replied, "We should all go out Saturday."

"Oh!" Payton finally remembered her parents, "My parents are coming Saturday. Tomorrow!"

  "Invite them, too." he said.

Payton chuckled, "Invite everyone to my house Sunday."

"Okay. See ya', Pay." he said.

"Bye." she replied and hung up.

Trevor asked, "Shall we return home?"

"Yes, Sir." she replied and called Barney.

They got to the house. It was three o'clock.

"My, look at the time." she said.

He looked at his watch, "Want to play some board games?"

"Sure." she went a closest and pulled out a game.

They played a few times and it was four. They then played cards. Then played with Barney.

It was seven. Trevor was cooking, and Payton was laying on the couch with Barney.

"Good boy." she said for no reason.

Barney wagged his tail. Payton watched the movie.

Seven thirty came and Trevor walked in with some food. The two ate. Then watched a movie.

They walked to their beds, then fell asleep.
