Payton awoke, still feeling groggy, but ignored it and swung her feet onto the floor. She walked out and saw some boxes unpacked, a doggy door installed, with a lock. As in, you can lock it at night to make sure no one, or thing, can get it.
Payton looked at her clock, and saw how late it was. It was one. She began to call Chase, but she didn't. She saw Trevor cooking, "Good morning, Sunshine. How do you feel?' Trevor asked without turning away from his food.
"I'll feel better once I get food into my stomach. How long have you been awake?" Crystal joked, then asked curiously.
He glanced at his watch, and put some salad, hot carrots, and corn on a plate. He slid it across the table and to Payton. She also noticed a fork and spoon on the plate. She looked up and awaited his answer.
"Seven hours." he replied, and her eyes widened.
"You were awake at five?" she mostly stated, the question was more in disbelief. "Oh, and thanks," she gestured to her plate, "by the way."
Trevor nodded, "Yeah, by the way, the empty dresser in your room, put my stuff in. I got my stuff out of the guest bedroom and moved it in, too."
Payton halted eating, her cheeks full of food, she muttered out through her chewing, "You're good."
Trevor began eating, but halted and swallowed his food before saying, "Thanks. I also called Chase, and told him we'd be late."
Payton smiled and stared at him.
"What's wrong?" he asked curiously.
"Absolutely nothing, thanks to you." she said sincerely. She got a phone call and excused herself. She sat in the living room, and glanced at Trevor eating. "Hello?" she answered.
A dark, heavy voice answered, "Is this Lisa?"
Payton froze, fear slightly arose as every horror film starts this way.
"I'm just playing with you." Kyle finally said after a long, dead silence.
Payton playfully replied, "You always sound like that."
Kyle replied, "Hey, when is the wedding?"
Payton paused, held the phone to her shoulder and asked Trevor, "When do you want the wedding?"
"Whenever you're parents can get in." Trevor shrugged, "My parents live in the town, so we don't have to worry about them." he chuckled.
Payton held the phone back up to her ear, "You still here?"
"Yup." Kyle answered, "Ash says, 'Hi,' by the way."
"Tell her I said, 'Hi', too. Now, the wedding will probably be in a month. Maybe, I'll give you more details later."
"Okay, I got to go, Ashley just got back from her run" Kyle said, "Bye."
"Byeeee." Payton replied, holding out the 'e'. She hung up, and went back to eating. She looked at Trevor who was surprised.
"One month? I thought we said two since you had doubts."
"/had/ doubts. Not anymore, I'm ready for it." she answered. The two finished eating and got ready. They arrived, and kissed each other before proceeding in the pet clinic.
Chase looked over, "Hey, there. Trey." He said their couple nickname. Payton ignored it, as he was busy talking to a patient. Everyone around knew this place was basically owned by their group. Everyone that came, always came back.
"When is the wedding?" Brooke asked.
Payton shrugged, "I'll get back to you on that."
Page walked in, she went into the back and sat down by Payton, "Congratulations!" Page said, and asked for some water.
