I fiercely closed my book, and got up out of my chair. My nurse sat up too. I looked straight at Mrs. York and Mr. Bagans.
"Miss.? What is wrong?" My nurse asked. But I didn't say anything. I felt betrayed, enraged, hostile, crushed, and devastated. My nurse looked where I was looking, and she gasped. The tears were spilling out of my brown crystal eyes. "Please nurse. Lets go." So, my nurse and I left the library. And as I was walking, I hear someone call me. "Miss. Allison." I froze. I slowly closed my eyes, and took a deep breath through my nose and out my mouth. I opened my eyes.
I turned around, but only to meet a pair of ocean blue eyes. "Hello. Mr. Bagans." I said. He took my hand to kiss it, but I took it back. Zak had a shocked and confused look on his face. "I best be going Mr. Bagans. I don't want to disturb your little outing with Mrs.York. I can see you moved on from me fast enough. So I will leave you. Goodbye Mr. Bagans." Zak wanted to say something, but I turned and walked away. "You evil man! You unholy woman!" My nurse yelled to Mrs. York. I smiled a little. I never stood up for myself. But he deserted me, and crushed me to pieces. I did the right thing.
I went home as if nothing happened, and did nothing all day.
It was time for bed, and it was storming outside. furious lightning, wind, and rain was pouring from the heavens. As if an angel was sad and angry at once. So he made a fierce storm to expose its sadness and anger all in one storm. I was all ready for bed. One of my other nurses came in, because my nurse had somewhere urgent to go, so I let her go. I'm not that selfish or overprotective of my staff.
I was reading by my bed, and as my nurse came in with the nightly tea, she dropped it and glass shattered everywhere. I looked at her in a panic. But then when I saw her, she was holding out her cross and looking at something, and saying a passage of the bible. I was totally confused. But I recognized that she wasn't looking at me. But looking at something else.
I looked where she was looking, and dropped my book. I was horrified at the sight, that will haunt me for all my life. Lightning flashed.
There, was a shadow. With huge wings. And red spiteful eyes. Starting deep into my soul.
Those red eyes.
Starring deep inside my soul.
I was its target.
