I could feel my heart pounding against my chest and the blood running in my veins. My body felt cold and lifeless, like I was a live corpse. "Angelica," I said to her, my voice low and afraid. "What is going on?" Angelica looked at me and I could read in her eyes that she was sorry for me, and wants me just to be safe and happy. "A man that just wants Zak dead, found out about his engagement to you and now is after you. Zak tried everything he could to protect you. And now, as you can see, that has failed. So Zak thought it would be best if you would be with him until all of this is finished." Angelica said.

I just nodded my head, finally understanding everything. Everything was falling into place and now I understood what Zak was doing and how he was protecting me when I thought he was pushing me away. I started to cry at how thoughtful Zak was being. Angelica came over next to me and hugged me as I continued to cry. "It is going to be okay Shelby." Angelica said softly. I said nothing but continued to cry.  Everything fell in place; but I knew Zak was a vampire and all, but I just need to sit and have a talk with him about everything that is going on.

As the carriage ride continued, I could see the sun setting and the day turn into night. I opened the curtains next to me and looked out to see fields and fields of land and countryside. I sigh and look at Angelica who is sitting up and asleep. I smile a little and look back out the fields and as I am looking out, I see something white running in the fields. I thought my eyes where seeing things, so I closed my eyes and opened my eyes again. I see the moving figure moving closer to the carriage, and now I am seeing not only one white figure but three, four white figures. But as the white figures where getting closer I was relived and excited at the sight. The white figures where the white wolves that protected me and looked out for me. The four wolves came to the carriage and surrounded the carriage , two on each side. I smiled and sighed in relief; I knew Zak was looking out for me, and I was happy for that.

I soon dozed off to sleep, until I was feeling like I was being lifted off my seat into a person's arms. I jolted awake until I heard his angelic voice.

"Shhh my angel, you're with me now. You're safe my love."
