The carriage ride was quiet, because we never get to talk much. And I've never spoken to a man in my life. Except my father. Zak and I sat on the same side but we didn't sit close to each other. "I feel kind of awkward." I said in my head. "But it Mr. Bagans. The guy who you cannot keep out of your head. I-" "So." Zak said to break the silence. "How have you been?" He turned his body to me. I turned my body towards him. "Oh. Been busy with my studies. How about you Mr. Bagans?" Zak took a thought. "I've been. Busy. Business, meetings, etc." he said it in a tone that made me melt.
Oh how he always makes me melt. Then it was silent again. I pulled back the curtains a little and looked out the window. The carriage was black and had black red curtains with lace on it. I looked out the window. Darkness has fallen on the country side. I look about on to the empty open fields and just see animals sleeping. Then we reach the town.
We sorta have to go out of Northern Whales to go to the city. We reached the city and went to the opera. The carriage stopped. Zak got out and opened my door. As soon as I got out and held on to Zak's arm, people started to stare.
Everybody knew who Zak was. And they certainly knew who I was. With my parents and all. "Your parents know that your here." I looked up at him. "I sent your parents a letter. Your father wrote me back saying that I should take you straight home when the performance is over. And he did tell me hat you loved the opera." Zak said with a little laughter and a smile. We walked up the front steps that leaded up to the opera. I held on to Zak's arm. Gosh how his arm was so tough. He has muscles. We went into the opera. I let go of Zak's arm and Zak took off my coat. "I'll be right back. Stay here please." I nodded my head. Everybody stared at me. But I just kept my head held high. "Shelby." Oh no. This cannot be good
