When making the first Aradiabot, Equius had originally planned to make it with flushed feelings for him, but he accidentally let it slip to Eridan due to his fearful respect of high bloods. Eridan is much more clever when it comes to romantic scheming, so he was the one who suggested he went with caliginous feelings. He reasoned that the programming would build upon a natural Kismesis if she found out, whereas with forced flushed feelings, they would fade quickly after she found out. Equius heeded his advice because both quadrents were empty.
