After hearing Dave call Karkat his "best bro", John was extremely offended and slightly jealous. He made this quite clear, and started to call Roxy his "best bro" and hung out with her a bit more. Roxy made the best of this by repeating something along the lines of "yes, Best bros, Le Wonk ;)" whenever John calls her that. Things escalated extremely quickly, let's just say that by the time John and Dave reached a truce, the entirety of paradox space was tired of the term "best bro".
