Tyler:
I wake up to the sound of Mom's voice. It's Sunday, which means church. I put on my button down and khakis, hoping Dad approves of my clothing choice. I walk downstairs and smell waffles, Mom's waffles, to be exact. I run now, hurrying to beat Zack to the best waffle.
I grab two waffles and dig in, pouring syrup and whipped cream all over them. This will be the highlight of my day. Zack comes in, blurry eyed and sleepy, grabbing a waffle and sitting across from me.
'So, boys, I was thinking we could go see the new neighbors today, I think they have two kids who are about your age,' Mom says. 'Okay, sure, can we make brownies after church and bring those over?' I ask and Zack looks up hopefully. 'Yeah, sure Tyler, but you have to help.' 'Okay.' These waffles aren't the highlight of my day anymore...meeting this boy next door will be.
We hop in the car and I notice that the new neighbors do as well, all of them dressed up as if they're headed to church. I smile, maybe we can meet them at church and I won't be as bored as I usually am.
We pull up to St. Christopher's Catholic Church and so do the new neighbors. Mom instantly rushes over, saying hello and I follow. 'Hi! I'm Kelly Joseph this is my husband Chris and my sons Tyler and Zack, I believe you guys just moved in next door to us?' she says. 'Hello! Yeah, I think we saw Tyler yesterday. I'm Laura Dun and this is my husband Bill, my son Josh, and my daughter Ashley.' Laura says. So that's his name, Josh. That's a much cooler name than mine, it's only one syllable and it suits him. Mom and Laura talk for a few minutes before we all head inside. I walk over to Josh, hoping that we get along well. Fingers crossed.
