Tyler:
I'm sitting on the porch, eating a popsicle, and then the moving truck comes. Mom told me that the Jeffersons had moved out and I was very happy. Their family wasn't the kindest.
I finish my popsicle and notice that there's a boy, about my age, walking into the house. He stops and looks at me, then gives an awkward wave and runs over to Bianca, the Jefferson's old cat and picks her up. I go inside and Zack is watching tv, some weird show for two year olds, not four year olds like me.
I go upstairs to my room, only to have mom call me down again, telling me to practice piano and eat a peanut butter and banana sandwich. I beg her not to make me eat the bananas, but she does anyways, saying they're healthy. I eat my sandwich, trying not to throw up at the squish the bananas make when I eat them. I run upstairs to my keyboard, and start working on the piece Mrs. Clark gave me yesterday. She gave me The Star Spangled Banner to learn and memorize by July Fourth, which is in two weeks.
I start playing, learning the piece quickly. It's not the most challenging because I've been playing piano for two years now and I've learned much more challenging music. I start to hum along with the notes, but I don't know the words so I just hum. Eventually, I get tired of playing so I think about the boy next door. I hope Mom brings me when she says hello because he seems really cool and I need to make a friend at some point before I go to school.
