 Chapter 9

I awoke breathing heavily, the bed filled with sweat. I sat up, bringing a hand to my chest. Looking out the window I saw the shining moon. I ran a hand through my hair and wondered who that man in my dream had been. He seemed to make the very world before him a better place. His blue eyes looked chilly, but inside I felt warmth. Something had driven me to him. I wanted to speak to him, but even in my dreams I mustn't break my vow to silence. I had sworn to the heavens above I wouldn't utter a word until the man who plagued my church was dead. I pledged silence to protect them from what I have been planning. Though I was the daughter of the holy church, I imagined killing the man who plagued us everyday. Just the thought of killing him made me happy. That man has brought pain to my sisters and it could never be forgiven, not even by the heavens. I couldn't let him continue his assault on my sisters, stealing their purity for his own gratification. He would repent for all he has done, but I would only have to wait till he tried to steal my purity. I layed back down, comforted by these thoughts as I watched three dark figures cross the land illuminated by the moonlight.

Riverrook was a land of beauty when it was shining in the moonlight. The whole church looked like a huge castle, it was not bordered by walls as the other kingdoms were. This place was just a lone building standing in the middle of the highlands. The large cross standing tall on the face of the building was lit up by several fires, giving off light to the front of the church. I wondered how I was going to get a warrior from a church, but I would just have to trust in what was foretold. After all I was a man who was foretold to kill his father, and so far that hasn't been led astray. My thoughts returned to my dream, what had it meant? I was watching the world prepare to kill the king, but then I fell from my vantage. I had no idea what this could mean, and when I told Ilorten about it he seemed clueless. Roan overheard the conversation and looked curious. He walked to me and placed his hand to my head, then I felt a tingling sensation as he closed his eyes and seemed to focus. Seconds later he opened his eyes and said, "That is indeed a strange dream, and so far as I can tell it means things aren't going to go as they are planned. However, the one armed woman in your dream is a savior of sorts to you, and the other girl is a woman who will help spread growth to the world. I looked with shock that he knew how to decipher dreams, and I saw that Ilorten was also surprised. Roan looked at us and simply laughed. "Just because I'm a warrior doesn't mean I cant know things, I have a vast collection of knowledge I have taken from my enemies and one of them just so happened to be able to decipher dreams." He then looked up to the moon. I looked at Riverrook wondering if we should go to it at this time of night, after my dream I hadn't been able to sleep again so we packed up and just walked. Now that we were here I had no idea what we would do. Ilorten looked at me with a warm smile, "It is a church Kai, they wont turn us away."

"I'm sorry travelers, but we cannot have anybody here at this time." The elderly woman who answered the door said to us. I quickly shot Ilorten a glare, but he only shrugged. Roan stepped forwards and asked why, but the woman refused to answer. Then the woman was pushed aside by a low elf man. This man wore silver armor despite being in a church, and he sported long silver hair with the same color blue eyes I held. Upon his armor was the symbol of a sun and it held a symbol within it meaning wrath, it befitted the anger he held in his gaze. "Why do you come here? I could kill you filthy travelers for just bothering a church of holy women in the middle of the night." He said as his eyes focused on me, but his gaze seemed to just move onto the rest of the group after a few seconds. I stepped forwards into the light and said, "We wish to spend the night here, we will be gone by day break. We only wish to see the church's hospitality for the night, nothing else." "Well I can say that the hospitality here is very good." The low elf said as he shot a look at the woman standing next to him at the doorway. The woman looked to him and said, "Egrik, the least we can do is show that the church is a kind place. We need to uphold that image at the very least." He gave he an angered look, but stormed off while saying," You will pay for your out of term speech later, they shall stay but only for the night. If I see them at day break they will die."
