Chapter 18
It has been two days since the feast we had in my home castle, but with all the warriors leaving for Elestia, Amicia and I had to pack up and leave to meet Roan and Artur in Tisent. The stay with all the warriors was great, most of my time was spent teaching them simple combat tactics. Amicia spent her time with her sisters and hardly looked in my direction the entire time we stayed. I believed that to be in part to the night she saw me in the bath house, but I didn't think she wanted to speak about it so I didn't bother to bring it up. Now, however, it might become an issue if she couldn't even bring herself to communicate with me. I decided it would be best to wait until we left the people and were traveling alone, but of course its never that easy. Amicia and I walked for possibly a few hours before nightfall would come on us, so I told her we would make camp. Then out of nowhere Roan and Artur appear and ruin my chance to talk to her, but it was forgotten with the news from Fellicia. They delivered the stone and caused the place to be defended by a sort of shield that came from the stone being placed on an altar. They celebrated the safety granted and the town agreed to help any way they could, but most of the people there were not the type to go to battle. So with that town safe at least I had no worry about it staying free from the fighting, we had a lot of willing fighters already as it was. Artur insists that we make a visit ourselves to see the town, but I denied much to Artur's and Roan's dismay. It also seemed that Roan and Artur had changed somehow, almost as though they were great friends. It shocked me that we were only separated for four days and yet these two seemed to have changed in some way I couldn't quite tell. It could possibly be the peacefulness that they had for the time they spent in Fellicia. We have been fighting non-stop since we started journeying, so the calmness must've been wonderful for them, and though it was calm for me I still was worried about getting Amicia to talk to me. But my worry was solved when Artur asked how everything went for us. Amicia began to speak, but then she stopped abruptly and looked at me. A smile slowly spread across Artur's face, a grin that meant he thought he knew how it went, but of course he would be wrong. I quickly began to speak for her, "Everything went alright, actually they already knew what we wanted and left two days after we arrived. We sort of stayed with them for that time and relaxed I guess." "Oh I see, 'relaxed'. Well I hope you had as much fun relaxing as Roan here did, because he sure had a lot of fun during the feast-" Artur began to say, but Roan quickly chimed in before he could say more. "I met an old friend and we spent the feast together." Artur smiled at this and began to say something, but decided to keep the thought to himself. Amicia then spoke for the first time in nearly two days, "Well I am tired, its been a long day and we still have a walk ahead of us till we arrive in Tisent. So I think I will head to my tent now." She said this as she turned and walked to her tent without looking back at us. Artur quickly approached me with a large grin on his face and asked me, "So you and her finally get together?" "No, we did not." I replied, but Artur seemed surprised at my reply and quickly said, "So you mean to tell me that the reason she was talking and acting all strange isn't because you two enjoyed some alone time together? That's the only reason I went with Roan in the first place, I think you need to go to her tent right now and make her cry into the night." He said this with no small amount of humor in his voice, and Roan chuckled at hearing this. "I mean your the lord king slayer and you haven't been with a woman in how long? Roan here was with a pretty one not even a day ago." Roan stopped his chuckling and looked at Artur with a serious face. "How did you know that me and her-" "You two didn't leave the feast with any amount of subtlety, you two ran off into the woods. As far as I know that only means one of two things- we are under attack, or your going off to have fun in the moonlight. And since you never run from a fight, it was pretty obvious." He said with a large grin. I laughed and began walking to my tent, until Artur grabbed me and pushed me at Amicia's tent. Though the push wasn't very hard it caused me to stumble and soon I tripped into the opening of her tent and what I saw made me immediately regret letting my guard down. Before me was Amicia, but she must have been changing into another dress for she stood completely naked in front of me. At first she did not notice me there, but the sound of me falling got her attention and she looked surprised to see me on the floor with only my upper body in her tent. She began to walk towards me until she noticed she was still wearing no clothes, as soon as she realized this she blushed and told me to leave in a voice that didn't exactly sound firm nor gentle. I quickly got up and left, but she said this before I was too far to hear her, "I will meet you outside once I am dressed, I hope you'll speak with me." I was going to turn around, but remembered she still wasn't clothed and just spoke a rough 'Alright' to her in a voice that was too dry to be my own. Once I got a distance from her tent Artur approached me, but I didn't want to speak to him at this moment. I continued to walk to the distant edge of the camp we had made and stood staring at the moon, when I heard footsteps I immediately knew it had to be Artur, but when I turned it was Amicia and my words stuck in my mouth before I could say anything. She approached me and began to speak in a gentle voice, "Kai I wanted to talk about the night I walked in on you in the bathhouse, it was all a ploy by my sisters because they wanted me to see a man.... you know. I didn't expect it and I'm just going to apologize for it, but I don't know what to make of what happened moments ago. Why did you fall into my tent?" "Well I was pushed and I was close enough to your tent that I fell into it, and I forgive you for the other night. It would seem as though we are even in a sense." "No we are not even, I don't believe we are even close to being equal on the situation Kai." Amicia said with a harsh tone. "What do you mean by-" I tried to say, but before I could complete my sentence Amicia leaned in and kissed me. She held the kiss for a long time and I felt her passion burning in the kiss, but it was abruptly ended when thoughts of Samarias crossed my mind. Just thinking of her watching Amicia and I together put me on edge. I quickly pulled away from her, her eyes showing worry and questioning me. I began to speak, but was quickly interrupted when another voice sounded from somewhere. "Oooooh rejected by the king slayer, that's not a very great thing. So what's wrong with her king slayer she not pure enough for you, or do you just want to have fun with other women before you settle down with this little thing here?" I turned to see Odion standing there with a large grin on his face and once I saw him he let out a cackle and began to speak again, "So where's my son, I'm here for a little fatherly visit." he said with a laugh after it. I had no time to speak though, because Roan was there with his sword swinging at his father. Artur rushed up and looked at Amicia and I. "Oh come on now, they were just about to get serious and you had to come and interrupt it. Sorry you two, but I guess love is going to have to wait till after this battle." He said with a smirk and pulled a sword out from seemingly nowhere, he then charged Odion along with Roans ongoing assault. I looked at Amicia quickly and then summoned my spear and charged for Odion. He seemed to somehow stay ahead of them by quickly avoiding their blows with ease, but I would see how well he worked against three skilled foes. I lifted my spear and used it to vault into the fight, and attempt to take Odion by surprise but he somehow knew what was going to happen right as I did it. This fight went on for what seemed like forever, Odion somehow avoiding all of our blows until an arrow struck him in his shoulder. This seemed to catch him off guard and it showed as his smirk quickly left his face and he rolled from the triple attack that was directed by us. He began to speak but what he meant as he said it was completely unknown. "No, she said it would last two days. That bitch will suffer for this." He said this with the first serious tone I ever heard from him, and he dodged us again but barely avoided Roans large strike which gave him a large gash across his chest. His smirk returned as his shirt was quickly bloodied by the open wounds he now sported. "Well at least I know he's feeding you son, well goodbye I shall see you again another day." He said this as he slowly began to disappear, Roan quickly charged him but I could not see if he succeeded in killing him for Roan disappeared with him. I quickly ran to where they were and saw a finger lying on the ground, it was obviously Odion's. But that was the farthest from my mind because now Roan was gone just as quickly as Odion had come, and I had no clue where to begin to think of where he could've gone. I turned to see Amicia holding her bow and Artur with a shocked expression on his face. I approached them and Artur began to speak, "Well I guess Roan wanted to be with his dad huh? Looks like we are just going to have to go and bring him back, even if I have to drag his big butt from his dads place." I looked at Artur with a look of irritation, but it gave me a thought as to where he may be. "Perhaps I know where they might have gone, a rat always scurries back to familiar territory." I said not exactly to anyone, but Amicia quickly asked me where I had in mind. I looked at her and then to Artur, "We are going to have to make a trip to Amalain."
