Chapter 21
BAM. Whoever just tried to rip the comforter off me to wake me up just resulted in my fist in their face.
“Ouch! You really have a mean right hook on you Ash.”
My eyes open slightly, squinting up at the stupid idiot who had the nerve to disturb me from my slumber. They quickly closed again as the light filtering in was starting to hurt.
“Justin? What are you doing here? Who let you in? Why hasn't my alarm-”
As soon as I said that, my alarm started to blare my favourite Blink 182, almost like it was mocking me. I realised that it must be 7.30 then.
“Wait. Why are you in my room at half seven in the morning?” I groaned, whacking him with my pillow.
“Double ouch! Your mom asked me to get you up this morning as apparently you don't pay attention to your alarm anymore...”
At this point I chuck my clock on the floor to shut it up, the back came off and the batteries spilled out. Finally. Peace. I pick up the pillow I just hit Justin with and put it across my face.
“I don't see what makes her think that.” He snorts sarcastically.
“Well whatever. I'm not going to school today. I'm ill.” I cough loudly to state my point.
“If you're ill then i'm Alex Pettyfer.”
Wouldn't mind that to be honest. But if I said that, he might get annoyed. I decide to try a different approach.
"If you leave now, you won't leave later with a body part missing." I muffle through the pillow loud and steadily.
He lands on top of me, his face near mine.
"I like a challenge." I can hear the smile in his voice. Jerk.
"UGH FINE IM UP." I shove him off me onto the floor, he landed with a thump and an 'ouch'.
I myself get out of the bed, wait for Justin to get up before pushing him out of the room and locking the door.
"Be ready by seven gorgeous!" he called through the door.
I threw a sneaker in the general direction of his voice, but unluckily I only hit the door frame. He giggles before I hear his footsteps move down the stairs.
Wow. I'm so tired. Checking myself out in the mirror, the dark circles are starting to form under my eyes. Maybe I should stop staying up so late and actually get some sleep tonight. Pfft. Like that's gonna happen. After frowning at the mirror for who knows how long, I run out of the room to have a quick shower. Then, I have to do the risky towel run across the hall in case anyone sees me. Uniform, check. Hair dried, checked. Hair straightened...hmmm, check.
The clock now reads 7.01. Oops.
I slide down the banister quite awkwardly, falling on my butt on the third step. A seething pain overflowed my whole system. I waddle into the kitchen trying to keep a straight face whilst it hurt like crazy. It probably looked like I was constipated, judging from the laughter coming from both mom and Justin.
“What's up with your face? It looks funny.” Justin remarks, giving me one of his signature smirks.
I glare back, breathing in deep breaths before replying. “I had a fight with the stair banister and the banister won. I now have a really hungry belly and an angry backside so if you'd wipe that smile off you face then that'd be better thank you.”
Well that obviously didn't seem to work as I could now hear my mum doing a few little snorts in the background.
“Mom!”
