CHAPTER NINE <3

First day without Justin today. It's almost like my first day at school. This doesn't make the whole idea too promising. I drag my heavy bones out of the bed. It creaks in response, almost screaming for me to return. Rubbing my eyes, I turn my phone back on. 5 new messages. One from my phone company telling me how many awards I can win if I enter a competition. Two very rude jokes from Justin, making me giggle slightly. A cute message from Austin, wishing me a good day at school, and a message from an unknown number calling me some horrible names. Well, at least there were more good than bad texts.

“So no Justin today then?” Mom asks, handing me the brown paper lunch-bag.

“No, didn't you hear? He's gonna have to be home-schooled now, it'll help him learn better apparently.” I reply, fishing out all the marshmallow pieces and eating them all the once. The sugar rush was extremely satisfying.

“Ah yes, I remember talking to Pattie now I think about it. Are you going to be okay?”

“Well, it's definitely going to be different. But I still have Annie, George, and Carla. OH. By the way, am I allowed to go to Stratford with Justin in Saturday? It's only for a week. It's also during the break so I wont be missing out on any school.” I pause, waiting for her reaction. “Please?”

“As long as you organise yourself and you have everything ready, of course you can!” She smiles at me.

YAY! I dance around the kitchen before giving her a big hug. “THANKS MOM I LOVE YOU.”

I grab my bag, skipping out the door, shouting my good-byes. I've never walked to school on my own before, only the times that Justin's ill or something. So this is very weird for me. I decide to reply to Austin's text to keep me company.

“Good Morning Ashleigh, Hope you had a good sleep.x”

“Morning Austin, how are you?:)x” I tap it out before sending it. I'm almost at the end of my drive when I get a text back.

“Much better now you're talking to me.(:”

Aw. He's so cute! I can't wait to see him on our date. I miss him alre-

“BOO!” Justin jumps out from behind the corner, making me jump out of my skin.

“AHHHJUSTINWHATAREYOUDOINGHEREIHATEYOU.” I scream, slapping his shoulder.

“Good to see you too, Yeti.” He winks at me before running on ahead. He turned around, walking backwards, and shouted “COME ON ASH, YOURE GUNNA BE LATE FOR SCHOOL!”

I jog to catch up with him. “What are you doing here?” I repeat.

“Can't a guy walk his best friend to school without getting ask any questions? I just thought you'd feel a bit lonely, so i'm still going to walk to and from school with you.”

“Really? Aww, Bieber, you're the best.” I go up to him, giving him a tight squeeze and a big kiss on the cheek.

“EWWW, COOTIES!” He shrieks in a high pitched voice. (pretending to be me) and rubbing his cheek.

I ruffle his hair, causing him to go into major hair flipping mode.

“You know what? I don't even know why you do that stupid hair flick thing. It just goes back into your eyes again!”

“It's all part of the look, baby.” He sticks his tongue out at me in a very unattractive fashion.

“Well it's a stupid look.” I huff, crossing my arms.

He clutches his chest, a look of pain on his face. “Ouch, that hurt. But you know, if I ever wanted to stop, I just could.”

“I don't believe you.”
