Chapter 1

Sage's P.O.V

I remember the day mom left like it was yesterday.

*Flashback*
*May 16th 2008*

Mommy woke me up early today. I have no idea why. She didn't wake anyone else up either. All she told me was to hurry up and get dressed, but to not make too much noise. So thats what I did. I put on my favorite unicorn t-shirt with my favorite pants that have pretty pink flowers on them. Mommy came in and helped me brush my hair, making it nice and straight. Then we left.

We hopped into mommy's car, and drove off. Once we were down the street I asked "Mommy, where are we going?" she looked at me, gave me a warm smile then said "Out to do fun things. I heard there's a carnival at the beach today. Wanna go?" I squealed excitedly. I've been wanting to go to the carnival forever, but mommy and daddy always had Alpha duties to do. "Yes! Yes! Yes!" I practically screamed, but then I thought "How come Daddy and Kaylee aren't coming? Kaylee really wanted to go to the carnival too." I said looking up at my mommy. She looked as if she was having a mental war with herself. "Today is just a mommy and Sage day. Were going to have some personal time together" I nodded my head and turned forward. Mommy looks at me and smiles. Turning up the radio we hear. Katy Perry 'Hot n' cold' turn on the radio. My smile was the biggest one yet. This was my favorite song. We turned it up loud and belt out the lyrics.

When the song is done me and mommy are having a laughing fit thinking back to our horrible singing.

We finally pull up to the beach and hop out the car. I can already see the gigantic Ferris Wheel. I grab onto mommy's hand as we walk through the crowd.

We played many games. I even won a gigantic blue monkey! We were on our way to the Ferris Wheel when mommy stopped in her step looking into the distance with wide eyeballs. If you asked me she looked terrified. "Whats wrong mommy!? Are you okay?" she broke her eye contact to me. "Yes. Of course, but we have to leave after we ride the Ferris Wheel" I frowned a bit "But I'll make sure to buy you some cotton candy before we leave" my face instantly lighting up at the sound of candy.

I skipped and hopped all the way to the Ferris Wheel. We got our seats quickly since it wasn't a long line and we started to move upward. I felt as if I were flying. When we reached the tippy top I felt as if I could the entire world. I looked straight into the beautiful sunset with my mom, feeling all warm and loved. She hugged me than proceeded to say "Sage. You know I love you right? You, your sister, and father?"
"Of course mommy. We love you too" I said. We sat in silence for a minute, when she said "Here. I have something to give you" she took her silver chain she always wore off and clipped it to my neck. I noticed in the middle it had a single beautiful diamond. "I love it mommy!" I say hugging her tighter. By that time were hopping off the Ferris Wheel and on our way to the cotton candy line.

As I eat my cotton candy, we drive back to the pack house. Mommy says you go on and head up to your room. I'll come in the house in just a second" I nod and begin to walk. Mommy stops me and says "Wait!-" she gives me a hug and tells me she loves me and that I am special and that I will grow up and be a great woman. She tells me she hopes my mate and I love each other as much as she does daddy.
