I'm waking up. I feel it in my bones, enough to make my system blow

I felt light headed. My body felt as if it weighed a ton. My eyelids were screaming for me to close it again as I woke up and slowly took my surroundings in. It was a very large dark room, with only one flickering light above me. It was freezing cold.

I craned my neck to the side to see a table with a white cloth and instruments used in hospitals. But there were also things that I recocnised as instruments meant for torturing.

I tried to lift my hand to rub my sore neck, but I couldn't.

I looked down.

I was strapped to a white table. I struggled, the chains making a clink clank noise. I still just had my shorts on. No wonder it was so cold!

"Welcome back. You were out for some time. I was beginning to wonder if I gave Harley the right gas." Said an unfamiliar voice in the darkness.

"Who are you?" I spat. "Show yourself, you weirdo!"

A figure came into the white beam of light. The face carved itself into the backs of my eyelids, and I knew that I would never forget this face.

His face was pure white and there were huge red scars running from his lips to the ends of his cheeks, making a permanent smile. His eyes were surrounded by black shadowes, it was almost impossible to see the red in his eyes or his dark brown irisses and big black pupils. His hair was as green as the sea grass that grew on boulders in coral reefs. There was a permanent frown on his forehead, though he grinned like a maniac, showing sparkling white teeth.

"I was actually planning on just talking to you in the darkness, so you wouldn't have to freak out when you see my face like you just did. So that it would be less of a shock when I finally revealed my face. "

I was quick to recover. "No, I think it wouldve shocked me either way, cause, man! It's a weird face to wake up to. At least I didn't wake up witn you staring down at me. That would've earned a scream."

"Thanks for the pointer. I will do that next time you wake up. " he said.

"Nah," I shruged. " I'm over it."

The man with the weird face scowled, making it look even scarier.

"See, hun? I told you he was a talker. He is sassier with you though." The voice belonged to th woman I knew as Harley.

Hun? Was this the guy?!

Wow, she had some weird sense of taste in men.

"Yeah, I must admit, this one is a talker." The weird man said.

"Ugh! Just cut to the chase! What do you want?" I snapped.

"Ooh, straight to the point, eh?" The man joked. If I wasn't bound, I would've punched this guy in the face. He really thought he was funny.

"Yes? Just tell me what you want. I have a bit of cash on me. I've never come here before, so it's pretty much all I have."

"We're not interested in money." The man simply said.

"So what do you want?" I asked again.

"You, my boy, are the bait. You are the bait I am going to use to lure the little team of hero brats into my hands. I've known about your arrival for weeks. Your mother was going to pick you up at the station and fly you to New York. Blah blah blah. But, since I figured out that you were precious to one of those annoying leaguers, I bet your mother will call the police, the police will call batman, batman will get their little team of brats to save you, the leader will be distracted by you and I will get to kill you and the team because of that." He laughed. This guy was even crazier than I thought!
