I Am Not Your Sidekick

SBS is super angry and I do not know why!

"So where are we going?" I asked for the millionth time,  since nobody wanted to answer me.

"Do you ever stop talking?" The guy wearing the black superman t-shirt asked.

"No. No, I do not." I said, very proudly. "Ask Robin over there. They had to ducktape me to the backseat. "

Superblackshirt seemed to get angry at me for being in a good mood even though I just found out that my girlfriend would never walk again.

The girl with green skin came over to Superblackshirt and whispered something to him and it seemed to calm him down a little bit.

It didn't seem like Superblackshirt wanted to talk, so I walked over to where Robin sat.

"Hey,  man, what's up with Mr Angry over there?" I asked him, nodding towards Superblackshirt.

"Oh, he's just like that these days. Don't worry,  though. He'll grow on you."

I peered at SBS. " oh gods. I hope not."

Robin turned to me and I could almost see him rolling his eyes at me through his mask.

"Not literally,  stupid." I gave him a 'I-was-being-sarcastic' look.

"So, anyways,  I have to ask you. How did you know that we all had messed up lives?" Robin asked, turning back to his computer.

"Puh-lease, there's been enough superhero movies to know that people with good lives don't become superheroes."

"What do you mean?"

"Normaly, I would tell you, but since nobody here knows your real name, I don't think you want me to tell. Not here, anyway."

Robin sighed.

"Anyway, Kaldur told me that you changed your mind. Why?" Robin looked at me expectantly,  like he was a mad teacher, asking why I didn't do my homework right before he gives me detention.

"That's a good question. My girlfriend told me to. I can't say no, because then she'd probably go batshit crazy on me." I stopped for a moment and looked at robin, who was looking at me with an arched eyebrow. "No offence."

"None taken."

"But mostly because I was sick of all this drama. I am sick of the Joker. It's time I fight back and stop running. Catch my drift?" I looked at him in all sincerity. 

"I guess." He said.

"I get that I can never get out once I've started. I get it. I just... I figured, I might as well finish the job."

Robin didn't say anything.

After a long pause,  I finally said, "hey, there ain't no rest for the wicked. Not until we close our eyes for good."

"Well said."

I turned aound to find Kaldur standing behind us.

"Hey man, thanks for picking me up. The hospital was such a bummer. "

"Yeah, well, I'm sorry I dragged you into this. You could've been in New York with your mother right now. "

I almost laughed.

"Are you kidding me?" I said, "Kaldur,  I didn't want to leave. Why would I still be here if I didn't want to be? I mean, yeah, the whole superhero/villain thing sucks, but I can't leave a man behind. You know that."

"Was it your plan to join us all along?"

"Definitely not. That thing about not wanting to be a hero wasn't bullshit. I still don't want to be, but I might as well finish what I started when I walked out of that ocean and got into that cab."

"Right." Kaldur didn't look at me. I guess he felt guilty about what happened to Annabeth. It wasn't his fault, but is sure as hell looked like he was blaming himself.

"Dude, stop it. " I finally said.

Kaldur looked at me in confusion. "What did I do?"

"You were beating yourself up about what happened to my girlfriend. Stop it." That didn't seem to make him feel any better. If anything, he looked more miserable than before. I kinda felt bad. I wanted to laugh a bit. It had been a while since I laughed or since I last saw someone close to me laugh.

I began to grin like an idiot when I saw the water bottles strapped to Kaldur's belt.

"Dude, check this out." I grabbed two of the water bottles off his belt and unscrewed the tops.

I looked at Kaldur and then at Robin, who was eyeing me with suspicious amusement. The water bottle was cold in my open hand as I poured the water over it and then it became a ball sphere of water and bubbles.

"Percy, what are you doing?" Kaldur asked.

"Don't question my actions yet. Just tell me who has been working on everyone's nerves for the past week." Kaldur and Robin looked at KF without hesitation, but they both immediately looked guilty.

"Relax, you two. I can clean up after myself. He will probably be mad for the first few minutes,  but then he will laugh with us. Trust me. I've done this before with other people. I didn't exactly know them, and they weren't exactly not chasing me with hotdogs and burritos afterwards, but I can assure you that somewhere along the line, they found it hilarious."

I let the sphere of water hover in the air above KF and I told Robin and Kaldur to count to three before I let go.

"Three" they whispered.

"Two" I began to grin like an idiot.

"One"

Flooosh!

KF fell out of his chair and was left on the floor, spluttering like a very confused fish. And that says a lot, because I have lived underwater for seventeen years and I have seen a lot of confused fish.

Kaldur was the first to burst out laughing. Then Robin followed. Even SBS let out a chuckle and Greenie giggled behind her hand. KF just looked confused and exasperated that his friends were laughing at him.

KF looked at me once and I knew that I was going to get it.

"Dude, I'm going to kill you." He said, looking at me murderously.

"Well, pal, you're gonna have to catch me first." KF jumped up and tried to grab me, but I was already in vapour form and I was already outside the ship, holding onto the wings of the bioship (or at least that's what Greenie called it.)

We soon landed and I was forced to get off the bio-wing.

As soon as KF saw me, he zoomed into one of the tubes and after a second, he was back with one flipflop and he whacked me over the head with it five times before I could even register what was happening.

"Ow! " I complained. Robin laughed.

"You had it coming, man." He said.

I'm so sorry it took me this long to update. Things have been a little rocky with school starting up again and me getting a new tablet with a new wattpad account. So I have decided that I am only going to finish IANYS on this account and I am going to rewrite the new one on my new account.  So, I'm sorry if things are a bit slow. I am really trying my best.

My other account as Gh0stwr1t3r2 and I am already busy with a book there called A sky Full of stars. It was requested by @LordMattaios and its a spn/pjo/OC  fanfiction and I am really excited for it. I hope you will like it as much as I do.
