I didn't ask Oliver the names of the people who thought of me badly now, although I had a strong feeling now that maybe I had no one on my side and Oliver didn't want to tell me. I actually stopped asking questions and went to sign up for my old school again, they accepted me instantly. I thought maybe I could get China in as well if I pulled some strings, it worked. I then closed Oliver ' s laptop and sat on my sleeping bag, staring at the ceiling.
Oliver seemed happy to see me...I just needed to protect myself and make sure that all my older friends were still...my friends.
They were the first friends I had had in a long time and I wasn't about to lose them! Then again...maybe I would just have to accept the fact that people come and go...like Quentin.*
It smelt like banana pancakes when I woke up, Oliver 's laptop was still on my stomach. I gently plugged it in and wandered into the kitchen. China and Oliver were talking animatedly about certain places they would like to move to. China's plate was filled with pancakes and she continually stuffed them into her mouth at a fast pace. Oliver was listening to her talk trash very politely, they seemed to get along well.
I told China about the school that I used to go to. She asked Oliver if he went there and he shook his head sadly, looking at the ground in shame as he mumbled "I dropped out." It seemed like a touchy subject so we didn't push it. China wanted to go, saying if anyone there bullied us then she would punch them till they dropped. I chuckled and we headed out.
We walked through all the alley ways, China liked them and soon we had memorized them, I didn't tell her the real reason I was walking through them and not on the main road was cause I was afraid someone would beat us.
We finally made it to the school just in time before the bell rung.
